    48:00 that was fun watching Caspian’s reaction to finding the Easter eggs

    • @HourlessLife
      @HourlessLife  Před 2 měsíci

      He is so much fun. But spoiler alert. This was the year he wrestled with the concept in his own mind and asked us about the identity of the Easter Bunny and simply put, we as his parents don't lie to him. But he took it well and that led to him asking about the Tooth Fairy, and then to Santa, and well, this was a small end of innocence. ~ Eric

      @@HourlessLife Well...as you have often said "this is real life" just on the road. It was the same way when my son also found out that the Easter Bunny was his parents - but we managed to keep some of the magic alive.

    I loved Caspian’s Easter egg hunt! He was so excited. There is nothing like the magic of childhood. My kids also enjoyed their Easter eggs this year.
    That is crazy that your jeep got you through that checkpoint just by being a jeep.
    Also, that flat looking elevation gain and fuel economy situation in the desert is wild…
    All the food looks soooooo good! 🤤

      We learned so much on this trip to the man-made floating islands. Unreal how the Uros people make these island and have been doing it for 800 years. Would love to watch them go out and source the floating sediment. I'm sure they have a lot of traditions that have been passed down through generations, and it is really a special and important time for them. Unreal. ~ Eric

    Awesome video as always Hourless life. Lake Titicaca was such a unique and interesting place and the food y’all found was so delicious looking. Eric hats off you for always thinking ten steps ahead about the safety for y’all’s journey. And Eric after y’all finish the Pan American and South America are y’all going to Africa or Australia first after leaving South America?

    • @HourlessLife
      @HourlessLife  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Hi Christopher! Yes, the food in Chile is amazing. We're actually back there now as I'm responding as we're getting ready to fly back to the States. Hopefully you saw my community post. Appreciate as always the kind words. So as of now, the plan after we've done what we're going to do in South America is to ship DAUNTLESS to South Africa and begin touring that continent next. But as always we'll stay flexible to what lies ahead, and be mindful of political situations in any region we're heading into. We have a long time left in South America if all goes well, so we'll see! ~ Eric

    Curious why you skipped Bolivia? Currently planning our route and was wondering if there was a specific reason.

    • @HourlessLife
      @HourlessLife  Před 2 měsíci

      There were multiple reasons Debbie. Many people go through Bolivia and from what I understand it is beautiful and challenging like most of the rest of Central America and the northern part of South America. For us, as Americans we have to pay for a visa to get into the country. Several hundred dollars for our family. In addition at the time we would have crossed we would have crossed towards La Paz which supposedly has traffic that either rivals Lima, Peru or is even, - gasp - worse than Lima. In addition there were multiple protests in the country where the locals were blocking the roads. It wasn't a dangerous situation for overlanders from what I understand, but essentially nobody could move through the country, and sometimes you might be sitting in a roadblock for over 20 hours. No fun. In addition, Bolivia is notorious for making it difficult for foreigners to get fuel for their vehicles. Not impossible mind you, just difficult. So with all of those things, added to the fact that we needed to fly out of Santiago, Chile at the end of this month to speak at Overland Expo West, the combination of factors made our decision pretty straightforward for us. It is a big big world, and we won't be able to see it all. Caspian was the most bummed because originally we were planning on going to the salt flats there and I told Caspian that if we did go there, I'd let him drive DAUNTLESS while sitting on my lap. But that will have to wait for another day. Hope you enjoyed this video and great question! ~ Eric
