Roman spoke the brutal truth about it being the Loser Bracket title though. Even the _Raw_ audience views it as a consolation prize for the ppl who failed to beat Roman. Every time Seth tried to hype it up as the "working man's title" , the crowds keeps booing in response. They acknowledge that Seth defends his title more than Roman, but virtually nobody honestly views it as being more valuable than the WWE title.

Rock and Roman's token torch pass match can happen anywhere from backlash to summerslam . it doesnt need the title, or wrestlemania. Mania should be about star building moments. Rock doesnt need that. And at this point Roman isnt getting any bigger whether he beats rock or not because everyone knows he will. and it only is dumb if he doesnt beat him because that long build up is not for Rock to end. And a 51 year old Rock is simply not going to have that great of a match. He isnt prime Rock anymore. Wrestlemania should be for current talent to main event and fight for the titles. if the match and storyline is worthy of main eventing. And hands down the year long Cody and Roman one is. Rock should have done the match at Chamber or waited to come in until after mania. Rock winning the rumble would have got the same reaction this did. 2013 should have been punks year. like 2014 was bryans year . this year is codys year. Rock is retired and shows up sometimes. Its not his spot and him vs Roman is nothing but hype that wont live up to the hype. Especially because people would end up cheering Roman now over him. it would ruin Romans heel character unless he loses the title first then he can afford to be turned face.

They didn’t completely drop Zayn. He headlined wrestlemania night 1 and won the tag titles. Then retained until he got injured; constantly in main events and cheered in Raw to this day. He’s also the one character who can get beaten and still not lose support. So I disagree with Glen on that one.
The problem with Disco's take is that they already pivoted once on Cody's story. He was set to finish it last year after winning the Rumble, but they had him lose to Roman at Mania. If they have Cody lose a 2nd time or give up his spot, it could ruin his entire character and momentum.

Conrad Thompson is just a mark who found a way into the business from giving veterans a chance to make great money from podcasting (which is awesome, lets not even begin to trash him for that) but now that he's become friends with certain people in the business, has become a TOTAL shill for them.
I used to trash Conrad all the time, but he said a few things in an interview about his podcasting style, he digs in on certain shit on purpose to keep things interesting because no one wants to hear a podcast in the style of a dry NPR symposium. He will argue but the reality is, off air him and his podcast mates are on good terms. Also, he does keep some of these people relevant too.

Nobody's one opinion on something as elusive or changing, always morphing, (I still personally try to look at it like an art, even if Meltzer cucks wanna ruin that) artform is the be all end all, it's up to you personally to decide. And yes Cody Rhodes is the guy if you have not been in the loop he had a massive pop the most disliked views was Rock vs Reigns. The Rock turn heel because the crowd turned on him the WWE Universe Cody is over my friend and he has been ever since he has returned and he is going to be dethrown Roman. Wrestling is all about storytelling in the WWE Universe spoke. Rhodes will go on to win the championship and most likely the Rock and Roman have a Year's worth of storytelling. WWE doing things right they are on fire. The Rock and Roman I think is going to be a long-term story line with some kind of power struggle. Cody will carry one show while the other show will also have unbelievable storytelling and boat belts will mean something. Right now this WWE roster is Young and has not needed any Legends to return to sale tickets bud or get eyeballs. Cody Rhodes is the first baby face in a very long time that has authentically won over the WWE Universe when he returned 3 years ago and now he is the guy and you are going to see him put the company on his shoulders as he has been doing with the belt on his waist against Great opponents. And you will be able to get the Rock in Roman tell a story for the next year part-time without a title being held hostage.

Here's my thought. Think of Cody's promo before the Rock came out. He said that he had talked to someone and they convinced him that he shouldn't just take the title. He should take everything from Roman. That is the key here. Rock and Cody talked, and came up with a plan to take Roman down. Rock and Cody are working together. Rock pretends to be on Roman's side so he can take the Bloodline out from the inside out, while Cody takes the title. That explains why Cody initially walked away from the title shot. This will take the title off of Roman so that they can begin building toward Rock/Roman next year. I think that was always the plan. There was no way that The Rock would have time to get into ring shape for a Wrestlemania main event singles match in two months. They were never planning to put Rock in a singles match this year. Rock said in interviews that he would only do a match if they could come up with a way to make it really special. This will give them a year to do it, while giving Rock time to get ready and clear his movie schedule. It all makes sense when you think about it. It also allows them to do a tag match this year so the Rock doesn't get exposed, and Seth doesn't have to do too much while he is hurt.

As someone who paid hundreds of dollars to go to the Rumble just to see who would face Roman I have to think twice about going to another PLE. If Cody was going to pass on the opportunity it tells you Roman is going over at WM.
Every new beginning comes from some other beginnings end. How many more times can Roman win & go over people? How many more family members can you add? Eventually things have to end.

That was when fans pivoted to the shield and wwe broke it up fast turned rollins heel and Vince planted everything on over booking Roman too fast and fans immediately turned on it. It had nothing to do with them going with Bryan . Go rewatch the attitude era over and over if those guys are all you care about lol.

Coming in with the plan to main event mania for the title is a nope. If there was nothing much going on and he did a non title main event like Ko and Austin fine. Lesnar was taking peoples spots too and for a while now his matches were mostly not good as they were just finisher spam and suplexes. Aside from the Cody matches he did. There is a way to use past stars. The main event of wrestlemania for the title isnt it.
Cody fans that go so hard to force him to be in the main event and win are the type of fans that destroy the world. The fans that don’t keep the same exact energy for people who actually deserve it more like bray Wyatt RIP and LA knight, and people more entertaining overall than cody like Bobby bruan Drew and people who beg n plead for the rock and punk to return only to turn on them asap soon as their mediocre guy they like is less pushed than them which will be turning on Cody too in no time.

I get your analogy but the problem is that the Rock isn’t some rookie character you’re not invested in at all. Raiden was lame and we wanted Snake especially after an epic game 1. People wanted Roman vs Rock at some point but Cody die hard fans are like “ nooooo Cody HAS TO FIGHT ROMAN AT MANIA THIS YEAR! He HAS TO WIN!”. I want to compare Cody to other midcarders that got over. CM Punk got over because of the pipe bomb. He was great on the mic, but never matched that moment again. Daniel Bryan started getting over with Team Hell No. I loved Daniel. Short guy with a crazy beard and very funny. Then, he had the story against the authority. The yes movement takes place and he is included in the main event of Wrestlemania and wins the WWE Championship. He ends up having to give the belt up soon after, but I can't help but think how he would have done as a champion. Was the interesting part over. I think with great writing they could turn Daniel Bryan into a mainstream super star. But likely he would become boring once he reached the top. Sami Zayne was similar to Daniel Bryan last year, then after leaving the Bloodline has been boring. Cody has been boring to me the whole time!

The problem is that a lot of times wwe doesn’t pivot. Remember that Roman reigns/Brock Lesnar WM match from years back where people were playing with beach balls? Or Goldberg winning the belt over bray in Saudi so he could go in as champion? When wwe wants to go in a direction they don’t usually change and for years WWE has not been listening to fans. They got it right this time though but it’s probably because Vince was gone.
