My favourite Turandot duo. Lise Lindstrom and Roberto Alagna are outstanding in this and the whole production is magical. I love Choregies d'Orange. The operas are always such a delight.
They make Turandot look so effortless when if it is done badly, it is excruciating. I just wish I had been in the audience that night.
Roberto Alagna: he visto muchas versiones de Turandot pero ninguna como esta ; para mi la mejor en interpretes, escenografia, orquesta conuna brillante dirección. Muy bien lograda. Felicicidades.

Prima volta che ho scoperto la trama di quest'opera meravigliosa del maestro Giacomo Puccini e la sua genialità nel mettere assieme la musica classica con quella tradizionale cinese. A parte i costumi del principe Calaf e di Turandot che non li trovo molto azzeccati ma le espressioni del volto e i gesti dei due protagonisti mi hanno toccato il cuore. Complimenti ancora a Roberto Alagna 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️

Magnifique production! Tout est superbe, le cadre, les interprètes, l’orchestre, la mise en scène et les costumes. Rien à voir avec la production de Wien 2023 . Heureusement que les interprètes étaient là pour sauver le spectacle du naufrage !
Avez-vous déjà été au théâtre orange? Est-ce bien vu dans les endroits les plus élevés? Le public est-il assis tranquillement?

I'm planning on watching this when I get a chance to really WATCH it. Sounds great so far! I sure wish learning multiple languages had been instilled in our educational system when I was young (and even now) so I understood what the musicians were saying and singing. Maybe someday i can learn. Knowing other languages can be so beneficial, if not for merely enjoying such artistic pieces.
Kathy Sellberg I speak 3.My ancestors were from western Europe where it is required to learn at least 2 languages.I can understand Portugese & French but speaking it is so different my friend.Continue with learning as many as you can.My daughter spoke 4 languages by the time she was 17.take care my friend Arnold Bourbon Amaral

this was absolutely brilliant, I'm now really looking forward to seeing Lise Lindstrom and Roberto Alagna in Turandot at the ROH Covent Garden in July this year, they were so well cast in these parts!

What's your verdict of the ROHCG production? I find it splendid, though Lise Lindstrom is fresher of voice here in 2012.
Desmond P T yeah, I agree. I watched the last performance with Alagna and Lindstrom, and although I prefer the sets at ROH, I think maybe this one could be better quality in terms of the performance... I'm not sure, bc it was also really amazing

Watch the DVD of Marton or the DVD of Dimitrova. And listen to the CD of Nilsson and Bjorling or the CD of Nilsson and Corelli. They put this sad production in the shade.

So eine schöne Png -Pang-Pong scene auf dem Regal der Weisheitsbücher sitzend ist selten so gut gesungen worden! Alange is superb but I would like to see a beautiful Turandot! Not this dead looking one.

Qui était au théâtre Orange? Dites-moi, s'il vous plaît 1. sur les rangs les plus élevés (bon marché) est-il clairement visible et audible? 2. si le public écoute bien ou fait du bruit. 3. des sièges sans coussins? Je vous serais très reconnaissante!
Pour les sièges, mieux vaut prévoir un bon coussin.
Pour ce qui est du son, aucune idée. Je n'ai jamais été placée si haut.
Le public est là pour écouter le spectacle, pas pour papoter.
On y voit pas plus mal que dans certains grands théâtres.

Can anyone tell the original rythm the opera was written on?, I've already seen it being done in a much faster pace (like the recordings by Corelli and Nilsen in the 1960s); this one is absolutely fantastic, but a bit slower anyhow.

Niente di entusiasmante..mediocre. Una Turandot da scordare..a partire dalla Lindstrom che trovo debole e tremante ..mai incisiva. Belli ma qui non bravi..nessuno.

_The terrible vibrato sounds from the soprano singing "Liu"._
_The singers w / under-powered voices, even discreetly microphoned & off-the-wall productions ( not this one ) are diminishing opera._
_Modern audiences don't even have a reference point to compare._
_Have they heard Corelli sing Calaf / Radames / Don Jose / Manrico ? If they have, can they hear the difference between Alagna & Corelli / Del Manico / Bonisolli / then feel something just ain't right w / what management is getting away w /._
_Alagna must have something to continue to sing out of his depth w / o losing his voice._
_I don't have any, any influence, but don't get people hooked on great voices & great singers one minute & then give us lesser voices / lesser singers the next & expect us to "bravo" all over the place._

Enigmi sono tre... In my opinion she is very troaty at "tre". Moreover there is no chemistry beetwen them. They are singing it like isn, t a dialagoue.
Overall I like the production but it is a pity that her costume does nothing for her. She looks like an alien. And that spherical cage she comes out of just reinforces that. I sympathize with Alagna trying to act interested.

Negli anni 90 voce stupenda ma come Pippo di Stefano e Jose Carreras..si è voluto cimentare in ruoli fuori dalla sua portata..rovinando le sue corde vocali con..Otello-Pagliacci-Turandot...che peccato
