The Yamaha RX100 was the go-to bike for two-wheeler enthusiasts back in the 80’s and early-90s. Back then, the Yamaha RX100 not only set a benchmark for two-stroke motorcycles but also single-handedly changed people’s perspective towards motorcycling.
The Yamaha RX100 was launched in November 1985 and the company kept manufacturing it until March 1996. The government’s decision to pull the plug on all two-stroke motorcycles ended of the Yamaha RX100's reign in India. But the success story carries on even today
The RX100 was the result of Yamaha going back to the drawing room after the RD350 failed to light up the market. But even Yamaha couldn’t have anticipated the outcome of their radical approach, making the Yamaha RX100 the legend it is today. The best example of this is that enthusiasts are still willing to handover hefty amounts of money in order to own a well-maintained example of the RX100.
The Yamaha RX100 was powered by an air-cooled, 98cc, single-cylinder, two-stroke motor that produced 11PS @ 7500rpm. Power was sent to the rear wheel via a 4-speed gearbox. The company also claimed a 0-60kmph time of 7.5 seconds. Furthermore, the Yamaha RX100 was not only reliable but affordable as well, making it accessible to many. The performance and reliability factor made it a winner in the eyes of enthusiasts. In fact, the Yamaha RX100 became one of India’s best-selling two-stroke machines, until it was replaced with the RX-G.
The part that makes us spring with joy are the rumours of Yamaha reviving the RX100, but with a four-stroke engine instead. However, our excitement levels have dimmed down as there has been no official confirmation from Yamaha as of yet. So, till we get a solid confirmation on its comeback, we can only wait and anticipate that the RX100 will once again revolutionise the Indian two-wheeler commuter segment. I just changed piston ring, for the first time and i cant carry my friend in uphill. Feels like before changing piston ring had more power .Whats the reason? @speedylio
Some times because of the new rings it will take time..... or else you can check for compression leaks

Bro i add sleve in my rx100 bcoz of its 200 number piston. So at that time my engine makes some sound its sound of barring so my machenic dont suggest me to change barring. But now after running 200-250km its worst sound so plzz suggest me can i change barring after 1000km or i had change it now n also i want to change oil seals as well. So plzz suggest me can i do it now or after 1000km bcoz of new sleve n piston. Plzz suggest. N yes its first gear make slight problem to catch

भाई मेने अभी पुरा A to z RX बनवाया है मेरा तकरीबन 20 साल का अनुभव है आप जभी Rx 100 का नया इनजिन बनाय तो उसमे पम्प के साथ साथ थोडासा पेंट्रोल की टेंक मे भी 2 T ओइल डाले और आप आराम से 50 60 की स्पीड मे लोग राइड करे और हर 15 से 20 किलो मीटर पर 10 मिनिट तक उसे ठंडा करे तो कभी भी इनजिन सील नही होगा और आप को 10 मिनिट नही रुकना और आप अकेले चलाते है तो आप उसको 40 से 50 की स्पीड मे चलाए तो आप को 60 से 70 किलो मीटर तक कन्टिन्यू चलाए आप को कोईभी प्रोब्लेम नही आएगा
