- Mila Kunis says she still cannot believe that she is starring in a film opposite Denzel Washington. The twenty-five-year-old actress holds her own opposite the two-time Oscar winner and veteran actor Gary Oldman in the action packed thriller The Book of Eli.
The story centers on a lone hero named Eli (Denzel Washington) who must fight his way across the wasteland of post apocalyptic America to protect a sacred book that might hold the key to saving the future of humanity. Kunis plays Solara, one of the survivors of the apocalypse who will do anything to get away from the horrible environment she is forced to live in. She finds solace and a means of escape when Eli comes to town.
Tribute's Bonnie Laufer spoke with Kunis in Los Angeles about working with her esteemed co-stars, how she prepared for her action scenes and how lucky she feels to be making movies.

Mila discussed Solara's growth. I like how she was offered to stay in the safety of the Alcatraz sanctuary, but chose the harder life beyond the walls to carry on Eli's legacy and (I think) share the Word with the world. She told Eli she joined him because her mom said she'd be safer with him, but she was also drawn to his heart, the Word, and the possibility of building a better world based on it. Regardless, she grew during their journey together and chose the more difficult path.
The Gospel, which means the Good News is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. The one God is a trinity of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Son came and laid down his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him.

The Book of Eli is one of those movies that are so good that a sequel would just ruin the whole premise of the story.

What a sweetheart! You know someone is an awesome person when they're that physically attractive, yet their personality outshines it a lot. I love how real it was especially at the end, even though they cut the camera and sound on the interview, she was still saying "No seriously! give Nancy your number and.." lol I bet she did get to sit in on a Family Guy table read. I once had a tour of the building, Mila wasn't there but Seth Green & Alex Borestein were, and they're awesome people in person, as I always hear Mila is also. What an amazing cushy job, voicing a cartoon for a few hours and getting a big fat cheque in the mail lol.

Gary Oldman is an artist. You can tell just by how she describes him. I like the idea that he can snap in and out of character; I do the same thing. I think it comes from being crazy! lol
Mila Kunis is awesome. Man the ebst part was the end when the guy asks her to satay and then when she says can't, he says "Where will you go?" and she responds "I'm going Home!" Powerful meaning at the end, and dang she looks Hawt when she puts on those sunglasses to be the next person to follow in the footsteps of ELI.

She is soooooo fabulous!! I grew up watching Mila on Family Guy and That 70's Show... to see her blossom and grow as an actress is fuckin rad. This has got to be one of my favorite films of all time, so artfully done and symbolic and spiritual, plus it's got an incredible cast, and of course anything by the Hughes Brothers is ill.
I really like Mila. She's humble but it's not a fake humble like some celebs put on.

Mila Kunis was great in Book of Eli and I really enjoyed the movie. I was surprised by how well she did because the first time outside of comedy I saw her was Max Payne which was so bad I think my dog even walked out of the room when it was on HBO. Great actress, great movie, great person to round it off makes me want to see more of her in films.

Get a grip everyone. She is merely an actor. Most of them are high school graduates with average IQs. They are not demigods. Also, as the older, accomplished, successful actors will tell you, acting sucks. It is a life of constant insecurity and self criticism. Many cope by putting really on false personas.
