Schola Progenium literaly means "School of descendants" and just a place where all kind of orphans of distinguished people who died while serving the imperium are trained. They taught many things, including etiquette of high society, but adeptus ministorium priests aren't alike to Vatican clericks (at least outside of Age of Apostacy heh).

The amazing thing is, I was stuck at a certain point in Warhammer: Boltgun, I put this on and within moments I was purging daemons like a true space marine, plowing through the hoards of enemies in my path
I could see a Commissar assigned to a Regiment who's planet is heavily focused on songs to empower them, singing this to embolden the troops in a really dire situation.
What makes this great is that it has the perfect smooth introduction and transition into the commissar singing so its not at all jarring that he starts singing bars and slinging steel everywhere!

I literally started listening to this, stopped it, added three levels of battle ambience, started it again, now there are screams and machineguns constantly just beneath the commissar's solo. It is so good.

It's sad that that this cover surprised me by not being out of context. This song is about recovering from a toxic relationship. Space marines won't sing something like that, they have forgotten these things if ever knew them. But comissars are ordinary people. They have ordinary lives, as far as military allows. And they fulfill their duty, no matter what happens outside of the battlefield. I'd say it is very disco.

This makes me think of the "nobledark" fanmade AU, in which things are both better and worse. This absolutely would fit that verse from what I've heard. the commissars there only use their bolt pistols on their own men when the enemy is about to subject them to something WORSE than death. Let me explain, in the nobledark AU humanity is allied with the Eldar and the Tau. But chaos is even stronger, and many Orcs have actually joined them, among other changes for both better and worse. Simply put: Grimdark = "everything is horrid and we must become horrid to combat the horrid." Grimbright = "high adventure amidst a devastated backdrop" "Nobledark = "everything is horrid, but to heck with that. as long as good men hold the line, the horrid will not claim us!!"

Chaos space marines: just impressed (reaction based off legion and im not writing that much go nuts)
Eldar: actually give them some respect and dont call them monkye, plus share one of their songs in a cultural exchange of sorts
Dark eldar: like the song and decide to just kill the guardsmen and not horribly torture them, takes commisar back just to sing at their parties
Orks: like the humiez muzic and it leads into a battle of the bands style contest against the commisar and his gaurdsmen vs da orks heavy metal wah song
Negcrons: dont care much for the song and rather stop and sing thriller in sync while doing the robot and blasting them all (Trazyn gets a vox recording to display in his museam as an examle of mankinds culture)
Tyranids: still act like normal but the gaurdsmen and the commisar are joyfully skiping through the hoards of bugs cutting them to bits with chainswords
Tau: realize this commisar is an imbodyment of the greater good with his singing voice and let them leave unharmed
Trazyn one is completely accurate

I remember that fay so well. The regimental band played their hearts out as the commissar sang. It was the first time the enemy ran away from the field.

It's sad that that this cover surprised me by not being out of context.
This song is about recovering from a toxic relationship. Space marines won't sing something like that, they have forgotten these things if ever knew them. But comissars are ordinary people. They have ordinary lives, as far as military allows. And they fulfill their duty, no matter what happens outside of the battlefield.
I'd say it is very disco.
My melee-focused support veteran when I take a sniper shot to the dome on damnation difficulty and have a sliver of health left(Commanding Shout is off cooldown and I am now fully aware of where the karker is, helbore in hand.)

This makes me think of the "nobledark" fanmade AU, in which things are both better and worse. This absolutely would fit that verse from what I've heard. the commissars there only use their bolt pistols on their own men when the enemy is about to subject them to something WORSE than death. Let me explain, in the nobledark AU humanity is allied with the Eldar and the Tau. But chaos is even stronger, and many Orcs have actually joined them, among other changes for both better and worse.
Simply put:
Grimdark = "everything is horrid and we must become horrid to combat the horrid."
Grimbright = "high adventure amidst a devastated backdrop"
"Nobledark = "everything is horrid, but to heck with that. as long as good men hold the line, the horrid will not claim us!!"
I always interpreted Nobledark as “things suck, and will continue to suck, but real substantive change is possible if the effort is made to achieve it.”
@@connormclernon26 exactly, and with enough effort and enough change, maybe, just maybe, things might actually stop sucking, but it'll take a long darn time of constant work for that to happen.
Sounds like how the Tau may mature as they keep trying to expand into the galaxy. After running afoul of one horrific revelation after another, they'll be forced to choose among these paths:

Grimdark: The truth gets filtered and covered up as much as possible, resulting in increasingly desperate leadership and deluded masses.
Grimbright: If the horrid reality isn't overwhelmingly difficult, having a whale of a time spreading and evolving the Greater Good.
Nobledark: If the horrid reality *is* overwhelming, then rather than compromising as Grimdark does, developing a shining, authentic defiance against the pressing darkness. Even if the Tau fall, the Greater Good *will* win out!
