    Your videos are brilliant! You use FPV with pan tilt on jets. It’s most attractive. Keep going! As for me, I want make model a cowl (hood) for fpv camera and embed it in the stock cockpit. It should reduce an air drag originated from indoor cockpit surfaces without glass cap. Also, it will allow move in forward fpv camera a little bit more and add more useful display field. Just an opinion.

      If you can make clear canopy, please make one for me. I would love to buy clear canopy so I can use it on my jets. The stock canopy from factory have too much distortion so can’t be used!

    Awesome video. Nice hints for the line-of-sight pilot. I was going to print my own camera mount for my FreeWing F-5 FPV project but after seeing that your gimbal comes with custom servos that allow for a lot of extra movement I pulled the trigger on your setup. Should be a blast in the speedy F-5. My NANO 33s finally came in after a 7 week wait so I'm ready to go from fixed FPV to head tracking!!!

      @motionsic  Před 2 lety

      Thanks Harold for choosing my gimbal. Much appreciated! The FW F-5 cockpit is quite small and overall airframe is on the small side, too. I do wonder if there would be enough room to fit everything in and keep CG in acceptable range. Do you also have the DJI FPV camera/air unit setup? I am very interested to see your F-5 setup once you have it in place. It would be a true testament of my gimbals compactness and flexibility of install if you pull it off! Do share your pics and videos, please! -Robert

    Hi, i am starting to scratch build a MiG-35S model and i have few questions...
    1.What do you think about automatic slats/Krueger flaps on rc model? It could automatically slide out when wings are pitched up (based on gryo data).
    2.MiG-35 can use the KLIMOV VT nozzles for Thrust Vector Control, I am planning to make a complicated copy of this system, but I don't know what type of controller should i use for multi servo-multi channel mixing.
    3.I am wondering if I should use one big or two medium sized batteries for this model. How would you spit power from two batteries in your MiG-29 freewing? First battery for Edf's + the other one for servos?

    • @motionsic
      @motionsic  Před 2 lety

      1. Model airfoils are usually quite different from full scale airfoils and often already quite a bit thicker and already adapted for high angle of attack attitudes. So not sure how the automatic /Krueger flaps would help besides just aesthetics. I don't know enough to answer properly.
      2. I don't know enough about KLIMOV VT nozzles to answer. Often I favor simple builds over complicated ones. So I am not the right person to ask.
      3. The batteries (2x 6S 6000) for my Mig-29 is one for each ESC/EDF. Only one of them has BEC to supply power for all the electronics, and that's sufficient.

    Superb. Very nice to watch. How does a hesitation roll with the Spitfire go? I haven't really tried with my little Spit, but with my old PZ 109 it takes a lot of aileron and rudder to hold a knife edge - I think because of the dihedral. It makes it very hard to do accurately (not fpv either).

    • @motionsic
      @motionsic  Před 2 lety

      I am about to setup my FMS winter camo BF-109F up for FPV. You are right about the coupling during knife edge. I try to mix the coupling out both in aileron and elevator so that rudder input only affects yaw in knife edge. It’s part of my initial LOS trimming steps before setting up FPV. Probably have to re-trim after adding FPV equipment (more weight). Will show you how it goes soon!

    • @avipatable
      @avipatable Před 2 lety +1

      @@motionsic I look forward to it - I hope you can get someone else on the Spitfire for a bit of a chase :) I have no mixing on my models as I like to add rudder in turns myself to make them look nice (at least from the ground) But doing slow and 4 point rolls is must more of a challenge with the plane wanting to self-level. I looks like it should be much simpler with the jets or aerobatic models.

    • @motionsic
      @motionsic  Před 2 lety

      @@avipatable You’re right about jets being much easier to fly. The takeoffs and landings in both Spitfire & BF -109 can easily go pear shape if not careful, hesitation rolls, too😉

    • @motionsic
