I must have looked at this video 5 times before I realized it was a simulation 🙄... I just couldn't understand why a Multi-millon $ F22 would be used for target practice.🙄 GREAT SIMULATION 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
Well either way, it would actually be quite reasonable. It’s common nowadays for militaries to produce dummy systems that resemble everything that the normal fighters have, such as stealth design and supersonic capability, but not made for wartime, so they lack missile racks, internal machine guns, radar, etc etc.
The best part is, these models usually only cost anywhere from 100K to 500K, and are mainly used for test piloting or training.
that f22 could have blown that c-ram with a single guided missile no problem! 😂
What kind of guided missile? Because no matter what kind, the C-RAM can shoot it down.
Why would a F-22 play around with a ground gun when an F-22 could destroy that gun from 110 miles away? :)

Man it must be eerily beautiful to see those close in weapon systems going off.
It is awesome . I was in the Navy and worked on these and other systems. Pretty crazy seeing them operate, loading and unloading, and doing the maintenance on these things.

It's a C-RAM and not an AAA

The terrain warning system will be blowing the pilots ears out, which should already tell you enough about the intended use of the F-22

The issue with these "simulations" is the weapon systems are more accurate and more responsive than depicted here. These videos don't do them justice. And kinda bad timing with everything going on in Ukraine right now.
2022 And I still wonder why not just point a heavy laser to get the job done.

Imagine a pilot refusing to fly an F-22/F-35 until an amount of money equal to the cost of one of those planes was spent on healthcare and housing for veterans. I am not holding my breath.

Bad ass video never the less the US have 6 dedicated systems to penetrated and neutralize the Russian A/A dome and none of this are airplanes no F22 nor F35 !!!! Darpa DOD have created a layer system to handle the complex Russian dome to include the S-400 the pansirs the manpads etc some of the layers will be base on DPB-9 weapon system ( I think it stand for deep penetration bots) another is the zero degree entry vehicles and black hat harmonics weapon so bad ass video but it will never happen 👍

cwis seem very ineffective against jets planes
Technically they are not really made for defense against aircraft. They are part of a US Navy ship's ASMD (Anti Ship Missile Defense) Suite. Most foreign aircraft don't come close because this is what they will face so they will fire missiles outside of the range envelope then turn and burn. This is where systems like this one, NSSMS, RAM and C-RAM come into play.

@@jf752 Not quite. See when in a battle group, its not CIWS job to go after planes. That's the job of the F/A 18 hornets. CIWS doesn't need tracers. The system has the ability to track its own bullets and reacquire then reengage target.
@@vcjjj08 I've never seen a real cwis. I was assuming based on the way it fired and the flares and all that that it must have went off and infrared tracking. maybe that's just in the video game. I don't even know why it really needs any kind of tracer unless it's infrared targeting only. I'm sure it has a radar somewhere. because I don't think anything could target a modern jet airplane with infrared only with the machine gun. as we can see. it got like maybe 12 hits or maybe 30 at the most. and it probably used thousands of bullets very very inefficiently. but I agree. that an f-18 hornet is way better equipped by miles and miles over a cwis vs a modern jet plane. a usa made modern AA missile would probably hit just about any modern airplane imo

C-RAM = Counter Rocket Artillery and Mortar
The F-22 will just fire a guided missile 20 km out, way out of the range of a C-RAM.
No simulation needed.

Well the missile will have to get closer to the CRAM so it can hit it, which the CRAM will shoot down anyway. This is the most realistic way of taking down a CRAM.
