He said in Norwegian “the worst part is that I thought about it earlier and then forgot it again”
This happens to me all the time! That's why I keep blundering and my rating keeps falling.
Sounds painfully familiar here also
@@ILoveMaths07
I assume she understod what he said 😅 I had no problem as a swede.
thx for the translation !
Ughh I do this in Chess all the time. 🤦🏻♀️
I’d be impressed, but I myself have never lost to a Super GM
Ive never lost to anyone 😏
Hahahaa
@@mahesh0483the joke
You
Same
I have sadly lost to Super GM
To make this draw even more impressive, the guy she drew was the guy that *en passant mate* Magnus Carlsen
Holy Sh- That's Impressive 😮
For real. It’s impressive🤧🤌🏾
I keep forgetting about that stupid move. AI Chef Magnus pulled that shit on me yesterday.
Yeah but she lost to the GOAT HIMSELF
You mean THE Magnus Carlsen ??
Her face went from 😕 to 😁 in a fraction of seconds
E
That's the best part of watching her videos. It's her smile
Almost poetic how his king falls after the handshake 😂
ye
I was looking for this comment!
How? It was a draw.
She didn't see the draw until he reacted. That's why you keep a poker face in chess 😂
Yes but she was going to figure it out regardless, it just takes a few seconds to figure out it's a draw but if she just keeps checking there's nothing he can do
The draw was given anyway. It doesn't matter if she can see it
Just move the king towards the rook what u mean nothing @@douwehuysmans5959
Chess ain't that kind of game
Once its draw rest of the moves are invalid
1- the background music works great for this moment
2- Her smile of realization
3- When HE looks up and sees her smiling at him and he has a small smile response!
4- great moment of sportsmanship.
Anna smiling widely coz GM is stressing. So cute😂
He really pulled a Wirtual there. I see u in the background my guy
i saw that, i was like what are the odds
I've seen her a few times in videos or streams, of Wirtuals, then watched her content, no connection, and didn't realize until this clip.
I love Anna’s happy enthusiasm.
I love the happy energy she radiates. She’s adorable. And so smart.
I like that they keep hitting the clock even thought it's zeroed out
It’s a draw because the king can’t get to the rook because the e file is blocked off by her pieces (and if he tries to escape via a6, he gets check mated)
Based on that though shouldn’t she just win?
threefold repetition is a draw
@@BradYouAreAwesome she can’t win (unless he makes the huge blunder of going to a6, which he obv won’t). If she moves the rook off the h file, she’s getting checkmated in 1.
Whats stopping him from going c8 to c7 and then moving his knight to f7? Wouldnt that defend his king from the Rook
@@MrTuas King can never protect F7 because it is blocked by the bishop and pawn. The Knight also can't block on D7 because that square is controlled by the bishop.
0:00 on the clock 🧐
Anna lost on time, mostly cuz they talked a lot, but Anna asked if they could finish the game and Hammer agreed and they kept hitting the clock on instinct
@@juliel2488then it’s not a draw? Not officially
It is... because he agreed to continue. Because he thought it would not make any difference @@kifer2594
@@kifer2594It wasn't "official" anyway, idk the context but it's clearly Anna going to a local Norway club / meeting some Norwegian chess players (inc. Wirtual to her left) for some casual blitz. Still a cool achievement to draw against Hammer, still counts in my books 😊
"6.8 A flag is considered to have fallen when the arbiter observes the fact or when either player has made a valid claim to that effect."
Nobody called it and a draw was agreed to first before anyone noticed.
Wirtual cameo lol
Ikr
Nice find, didn't know he's into chess.
@@freedomfreedomhoi he competed in pogchamps (that big streamer chess competition) and she was his coach, he was really invested in becoming a good player and absolutely dominated the consolation bracket after pulling a wirtual in the group stage
Yes @@lexor28852
Glad I’m not insane and that really was him lol
He already won actually on time but they decided to continue playing for fun
That's true, I didn't realize it before 😅
I was wondering if someone noticed. She lost!
The more likely scenario is that she had unlimited clock since she was playing a super GM
@@illusorytrutheffectbut his clock wasn't running as well
He was in check when the clock ran out, therefore she could continue
He wasn’t mad because he lost to a lower rated player/girl, he was mad because he lost to a Swede. 😂
He was mad because Anna has a rule that if you beat her, you can sleep with her. Draws do NOT count
@@williamforsythe9180 ^ rotten brain
not funny
@@williamforsythe9180?!?
@@williamforsythe9180 Na, that's not cool. She's playing chess, and you just put her in a different world that she's not a part of. Even as a joke it's not a good one to make.
She's in a pretty male dominated space and everyone there just treated her like another chess player, but your comment takes away from what should be a good moment. Don't reduce her down to her femininity, it's already a potentially uncomfortable environment to be in. Have some respect.
That thumbnail though..... 🎃😂
What should he have done? Nf7?

Spooky
gave her the bro handshake too. in my culture that's big respect
Hammer got hammered 😂😂
I thought he wasnt gonna let her go after that handshake
everywhere i look, he´s there, Wirtual´s always there
Honestly, I was half expecting that Anna would understand Norwegian.
she understands but i guess she kept talking english for the camera
@@330lo-firadio ?
Wirtual and Hammer in the same frame is wild. Hahah
Gotta love Hammer. Such a cool dude.
Lol she started cheesing so hard when she saw it
For those wondering its a draw because e7 and e8 are covered so the king can never get close to the rook and if king goes the other direction itll be forced mate by white.
cant the black knight go e5 to e7 and block the rook when the king moves to C7 and the rook to h7? Rook takes knight but king takes rook.
I don't know chess, it's a legitimate question not a snarky one.
@@andredavis3350 the bishop can take the knight there. and then the king can't take the bishop and still doesn't really have anywhere to go, cause the bishop just goes back on his previous spot in the next move. then you're bCk to where we were, just wasted a bit of time and lost a knight
assuming you meant d7, cause the knight can't go to e7
@@jurgnobs1308 what about Kc7 - Rh7 - Nd7 - Bxd7 - Ph1(R/Q) - Rxh1?
It gives enough time to threaten the pass-pawn with king, but I guess it leads to a losing position, so just better to draw? King takes bishop off it, though.
So what is the move instead of f3 to prevent this? Is it Ng6?
@@obviouslyanonymous honestly I am not nearly good enough to answer all these questions lol
I was proud I saw the issue with one proposed solution
Wait a sec! Her clock is at 0!!! She flagged!!
I love how she giggles when she says I offer you a draw. She is so funny and cute. 😂
Hammer managed to checkmate Magnus Carlson with an en passant. So impressive
That was a good handshake
Refreshing to see Anna's enthusiasm.
I’m just impressed I found out how it was a draw by myself
I don't get why moving his pawn would be the reason for Anna to be able to draw
@@Kinespojkenits because he could’ve played a defensive move but instead he just moved his pawn

I love Anna and his reaction xD
I think a draw sometimes means sth better than a win.
Why
For her is definitely a win. For him is definitely a lost. No doubt. Chess is more than pieces and numbers.
@@ieorlich it's all about numbers though, according to your comment. If not for numbers, then it's just a draw, neither would have any reason to feel like they "won"/"lost".
@@JimmyBoosterCrateidk if you make a draw against a very strong player I think thats definitely reason to celebrate
@@user-tw2tu3qz3m how do you define a player's strength? Numbers

He just wanted to hold her hand
😂
King can't escape to a6, otherwise Bb5+ and if Ka5 then Ra7#
Thanks, I was wondering
thx
Thank you so much! I couldn't figure that one out.
And what about escaping on the h file. Doesn't that work? Cos if the king gets to g8, can't he escape the checks and run down the h file?
@@mikeryan1971 He can't get past the E file. E8, E7, and E6 are all attacked.
is that wirtual??
The guy is 1 square from checkmate, but stuck in endless checks loop lol.
It is so fun to see her getting that happy for a draw 😂😂😂
Plot twist: She actually lost on time

Id kill to be good enough to draw against a GM. Well done. I actually was smiling with you. Cheers!
Probably would have won still if he didn't make it obvious there was a draw
Not likely, Anna's next move was going to be check the king with the rook either way and once there it's easy to see there's no way out.
@@sergiosarmiento4371 King drops to A6.
@@gregabott5583 that would be a blunder I think because bishop to b5 forces king to a5 and then rook to a7 is checkmate

i have this thing where i never offer a draw to someone more than 150 points lower rated.
0:00 on the clock
I wish I understood why this is a draw.
Rook can keep checking the king, with no way for white to stop it. If the king tries to escape on the left, bishop checks, king has to move down, then rook moves over to checkmate.
If he tries to use the knight to block, Anna can advance her pawn.
@@MarkChen-zv1up thanks! I never would have figured that out.
@@MarkChen-zv1up sorry, I've never played pro chess, but would've been convenient for black to move the king back and forth until it can be protected by the knight, then, if the pawn advances, move the king, later the knight can kill whichever piece she brought in
amazingly because of the c3 pawn.. the king cannot escape on the left side.
@@matiasfuselli3702King is trapped by pawn on F6 and bishop on A4. So the King cannot get to the E file. If king goes to C7 and Knight to D7 blocks, rook can just take the knight because the bishop is watching D7. So blocking with knight is not an option.
