OTC is an underrated brand of tools, they are great for automotive specific tools and I always forget they exist!
Hi luke i agree with you!!! they have some quality stuff!! thanks my friend!!!!
Nice set of snap ring pliers. I never cared for the kind with the interchangeable tips. Looking forward to the review on the Matco ratchet. Matco sure is proud of them!
The interchangeable tips was just more things to keep track of and eventually lose
Yea i hate the interchangeable tips also!! better be wearing safety googleslol!! Matco is in the house!!! thanks my friend!!!!
Nice retaining ring pliers set well worth the price Jeff and they are made in the usa 🇺🇸 well worth 15 dollars a piece thanks for sharing my friend
Hi Don im going to enjoy this series!! USA tools are in everybodys heart!! we need to see more of them!!! this video should help shed some light on some of the brands still being made here!! thanks Don!!!!
@jefftovani5535 you're welcome thank you Jeff I'm looking forward to your usa collection
Based on the patent number stamped on them, your old school pliers were made by Stride of Glenwillow, OH and they are still in business.
The USA made Craftsman units were supplied by A&E Manufacturing of Racine, WI which is the same company as Lang Tools. They also made the "S" circle automotive tools (gap gauges, feeler gauges, etc.) for Sears.
Good info to pass along to the channel my friend!! thank you!!!
I don't own a bunch of Snap-On but I swear by their retaining ring pliers. That OTC set looks nice!
The ones with the push botton?
@@jefftovani5535 Fixed tip with the push button. Look VERY similar to the OTC ones. #SRPCR9090DT would be an example.
OTC is in the house! So am I to take a gander. Thanks for the video, Jeff!
Hi Bruce yes!! take a gander, lol!!
That's cool you have a time tested set that doesn't break l have had many of the old styles that don't hold up thanks again Jeff
Yea there 10 years old but ive kept them clean and not beat on them 2 bad!!! thanks tank!!!
That looks like a very complete set! 10 years says a lot!
Yea when i hought them they were $130!!!! thanks Tom!!!
OTC make lots of great tools and a little better than cost than on the tool truck
I would agree larry!! thanks my friend!!!
Good set of snap ring pliers are worth there money. I have had many sets over the years. The craftsman are best ones I have had in a long time.

Randy did you have your surgery, and if you did how are you doing!!?
They apparently hold up very well because they look new after all this time.

Yea i bought them in 2013 paid $124 back then!! now there close to $200!!! its not a tool i use everyday!! but boy when you need them there fantastic!!!! thanks my friend,as always for joining in!!!
I love OTC Jeffery..anytime I'm looking for a tool or a kit if it's being offered by OTC I'll usually try to grab it...👍
hi boosted i like the brand myself!!! thanks for sharing your thoughts!!!
Yes, you will like your Matco ratchets. I have 2 now and a 3rd one on the way. Pro's: sweet handle, small profile, and a good flex lock. Con's: Pricey, gears can strip if abused. No cheater pipe on that baby! To me, they feel really good.
I just bought a few and so far i like them!!! did you get any with the black finish?
Nice set, I have several specialty tools OTC they hold up well
Thanks Warren for joining in!!!
Thanks for this video my friend much appreciated I like them!
Hi joe pricey but most USA tools are!!! thanks for joining in!!!
I have a snap on set from 40+ years ago they look identical to your set Jeff I have heard they were a rebrand I sure like the new snap on set with the push button not enough to fork out dough keep them coming Jeff 👍😎👍
Yea those snap on push button ones are nice!!! thanks for joining in my friend!!!!
That’s a pretty complete set. They’ve held up too. They still look new. All of my snap-ring pliers are miss matched from yard sales. I would love to have a complete set of them. Something to think about. Thanks
There in really nice shape,i try to always clean the handles on my tools!! its not a tool i use everyday!! thanks joe for joining in!!
Good lookin set!! That 3/8 will quickly become a go to ratchet! :)
Your probably rite my friend!! thanks for joining in!!!
Pair I have somewhere had the replaceable tips and a screw handle. I also have a pair of vintage Proto parallel jaw snap ring pliers
Thanks my friend for joining in and sharing what you use!!!
Parallel jaws are nice. 👍 You can still get them. That little extra leverage is nice if you have to hold a clip open for a while, like when you have to slide them to the middle of a shaft.
Folks need to understand if it's truly made in the USA you can bet it's an amazing-well made product the metals of the most strongest in the world.----You pay for what you get now with that said if you don't need this for a job meaning workplace then maybe buy cheaper for that one time use once a year etc.
Yes sir your %100 rite my friend!! this will be a good series!!!!!!!USA all the way!!!!
this is a nice set.
Its well made,no complaints my friend, thanks for taking a gander!!!
Very nice set, thanks for the look!
No problem marc!!!!thanks!!!
Owatonna Tool Company (OTC) started in 1925, well worth taking a Gander.
Hi bacon hope all is well in your neck of the woods!!! do you like bacon?
Jeff, some day I would like a set like that.
i know there pricey!! but once you have these you will be amazed how well they work!!! the old one size fits all with the multi tips dont even come close!! thanks my friend!!!
The Knipex set is my current favorite. Can't wait to see what you think about that Matco locking flex. I think they have the best locking mechanism, now if only we could get a dual 80 head on it....
P.S. I can't help but think of Grip-o-Matic every time I hear OTC. I've have some ancient ones still going strong.
Knipex are fantastic, used them, but dont own there snap ring pliers!!! ah!! the matco ratchet,oh boy,its coming!!!
Really nice set
Thanks louis!!!
Can't wait for the high end stuff now. Great review as always buddy
Hi shaw as you now i mostly show mid level tools, but being a USA made tool series there will be more high end then i usually do!!! lot of USA tools are expensive but thats the nature of the beast!!! thanks shawn!!
Jeff, I just bought the Icon 12 pc (4 sizes) Convertible quick change, USA retaining ring pliers - rebranded Imperial tools. I would like you to review these & do a comparison. $150 ...$112 with a coupon
Iteresting im going there soon, ill take a good look!!! thanks don!!
I bought the mac tools set in the 90s it's been a great set I did brake the large straight set though but it took lots of abuse.
Thanks john for joining in and sharing that!!!
Nice set!! Look similar to the Wilde pliers I have, wouldnt be surprised if they made them for OTC. Also, not USA but i got the jumbo set from Astro, they are AWESOME for large snap rings
They could be made by wilde im not sure,Lang ones are about the same as well!!!thanks my friend for joining in!!
I like them!
They sure come in handy!!! thanks my friend for joining in!!!

@@jefftovani5535 yes
I seem to break a lot of them on golf cart clutch snap rings.
The OTCs?
👍👍👍
Thank you harry!!
#1🙆♂️
Thanks for taking a gander my friend!!!
Are they still available after 10 years?
Hi joe they sure are,i put a link in the description for amazon!!! these are so nice, there a pleasure to use,i kid you not!!! had over 10 years!! zero issues!!! thanks for taking a gander!!
Nothing more frustrating than a crappy set of snap ring pliers...
Boy we all been there, lol!! thanks my friend for joining in!!
They look nice, but at $185 for a tool I hardly ever use, that's a bit rich for my blood. Thankfully they had an 8-piece set for $90 that proved a bit easier to swallow. Maybe not quite as comprehensive a setup, but I've had to improvise before ... don't ask how many pairs of vise grips it took me to change an outer tie rod.
Yea there not cheap!! most USA stuff isnt!!! what were you changing the outer tie rod on that gave you trouble, older model?
