That's a great looking box Jeff! I know what you mean about boxes that are too tall. I'm 5'7" so I avoid tall boxes. Looking forward to more videos of you filling the the new box. My yardwork never ends. Once I finish trimming all the bushes and weeding I have to start over again!
Yea i cant see in the top 2 drawers, lol!! yard work like you said is never ending, lol!! thanks my friend, stay cool, the heat wave is just getting started!!!! 95+ in some areas in are area!!!!
I got excited thought this was the box give away Lol I couldn't imagine my old S O box is 22in deep the drawers don't open all the way been looking at new one's someday đ€Šđ»ââïž đđđ
I think you need another ratchet Jeff!! lol they have meetings for guys like us!! lol love it man. You have an awesome tool collection sir! I salute you sir! đ«Ą
Hi Jeff, nice video. I'm 70 years old and I only have a daughter. She seems interested in inheriting my tools, but I doubt she'll ever need most of it. Have you given any thought of how your tools will wind up once you're gone?
Hey ED, I'm 63 but I have been thinking about where all my tools will end up too. I'm a Maintenance Guy these days, actually a Facilities Manager, been a house builder, auto mechanic and a F-16 crew chief in the USAF. Done some of everything there is to do in a building, and a house, from carpentry, to plumbing, to electrical, tile, I could go on and on, done everything there is to do on OLDER autos or trucks too...I'm old, so less experience on newer stuff.... and I did...in the ancient past, know many things on F-4's and F-16's. I have so many tools its ridicules. My son may want some, at least what he needs to keep our Harleys running, but I have more than enough to keep him happy and then some other folks too. I'm thinking of going to a local vocational school at some point and having a conversation with a few of the shop instructors. Many of my tools are new, or new-er, I like to buy and keep current. I'm sure most of them would be grabbed up pretty quickly when the time comes. I don't plan on retiring any time soon, but the day will come. I don't actually use tools for work these days, just my fat fingers on the keyboard and my big mouth at staff meetings ha-ha. But I do have a 1200 sf shop full of tools of every type, and it brings me comfort somehow and so does thinking my tools will go to someone happy to have and use them ...once I stop using them altogether.
I have a few nephews, maybe also donate some to a young subscriber!! i plan on giving alot away to you subscribers as well!!! i may up the give aways, will see!! i have enough tools for 5 mechanics, maybe more!! take care!!!!
One looks full extension while the smaller box does not seem to pull completely out. To your point 10" is huge. I think Tool Vault has a hutch rather than more drawers. To many it may be more useful, especially to us "height challenged". Thanks for showing what can be done. Great set up.
You have a VERY nice toolbox!!!! I guess the "worst" part of that big of a box is that it costs a lot to fill it up!!! But then you have excuses to buy more tools so I guess it isn't that bad after all...
Hello again, Jeff Thank you for another Great Video đ 30" deep seems very reasonable. I gave that same type of advice to a new aircraft mechanic.I can't remember if he got the Husky or International toolbox. I don't remember how deep he got it. I believe it may have been a 22". Again thank you
Hi george, its nice to see you help out up coming techs!!! it sounds like you have a lot of knowledge in the trade!!! much respect sir!!!! thanks for your support of the channel!!! we have alot of good guys who share there knowledge and wisdom on the channel!!! take care my friend!!!
The depth of the drawers makes a world of difference. A person is less likely to grow out of a 30" box vs. a 20 or 25". The difference in space is in the thousands of cubic inches vs. a slimmer box of the same length.
Personally, I'd get one of those kick stools that you see in libraries, with spring-loaded caster wheels that retract up into the stool body when you stand on it.
That is a beautiful tool box. And I would like to see more tool box tours. Also looking forward to seeing all your construction when your done. Thanks Jeff đ
All you need is a small step about a foot out from the bottom of the tall, center sectionâŠsomething light and easy to move. 3/4â pine and some wood screws.
@@jefftovani5535 I got a stool that's on wheels. Got it at Grainger, when you step on it the wheels retract and it won't roll out on you. But you can kick it easily from spot to spot. I think they come in blue too, although mine is red. they ain't cheap, but with a shop like yours, what's a couple of bucks here or there.
@@douglasmiles1215 yes after I hit send I realized this. Didn't feel like editing the comment though. My brain was going from 30 to 20. All good though cheers.
I like the 30" deep drawers. But those huge tool boxes are tough to get tools in and out of the top section drawers. Also if you're a mechanic and change shops they are a pain to move.
Going to 30" in depth from 20" is a huge advantage. 50% more drawer space opens up so many options for configuring tool layout. You could spend days moving and rearranging wrenches, ratchets and literally everything and come up with dozens of layouts that you really like. Sounds like a great problem to have. I just picked up a new to me (used) series 2 27" U.S. General top chest from a mobile mechanic who was upgrading. Got a great deal $60 and everything except the lock works. Awesome upgrade from my 12" deep Craftsman. Filled it up with sockets, ratchets and one drawer of screwdrivers. Thanks for the insights on the new box Jeff. And as always, thanks and have a great day my friend.
Thats a fantastic deal you got Doug!! thats the best way to buy a toolbox, used!! most of the time there in great shape!!! thanks my friend as always!!!
My toolbox is also blue but a lot smaller i have a matco double bay with a hutch and lockers and fixing to add some overheads then i have a older craftsman top and bottom double bay and a Jamestown rollcart all packed with tools and my wife doesn't think i need a bigger box
When I took a look at them I thought they were a bit over priced in my opinon but they do offer free shipping but man if you have to move that big boy your gonna need a trailer.
What a ratchet drawer. Dam nice seems like a nice box. Iâm sure youâll fill it in time. I have 3 26â boxes and 1 42â box and they are about full
Yea it would look better, but unfortunley the rear exit door to close, when you swing open the door it already hit the side locker!! and the right side is getting to close to the lift!!! thanks papa as always!!!
"Ten inches makes all the difference..." -- That's what she said... Wow, that is really tall. What type of application is that normally made for? Like you said, the top few drawers are kind of inaccessible/unviewable. Other than that the thing looks great.
Hi leo im not sure what they had in mine when they made them that tall!!! you would have to be 6foot6 to see in the top 2 drawers, lol!! i bought the top box,so i could have many more drawers, then if you had a hutch!! thanks for joining in!!
Now that is one of the biggest and baddest tool box I have ever seen and I have seen a lot. đșđž

Amazing, so for the 30" drawers, you need a good 5 and a half feet off the wall clearance. Good comparison what 10" does make a huge difference
Yea you need alot of room!!! thanks my friend for joining in!!!

Build you a deck out wood to put in front of the box too stand up on

30 inches deep is a huge upgrade to most boxes. 30% increase in storage space.
Point of correction, 30" over 20", is a 50% increase in depth.
