I'd say human compassion is more widespread than ever, bridging across cultures and countries like never before. But I agree with the rest. I've interacted with both normal and incredibly inteligent and academically acclaimed individuals and what matters the most in how I judge them is how they threat other people. The world is full of people who are both smart and kind, so smartness is no excuse for a shitty personality

Have to say I disagree. A foolish person can be convinced that "compassion" is something else than it really is. You have to know what goodness is to be able to maintain it through evil.
