I try to reduce waste right before total war kicks off. At that point you don't want to spend money on anything but military.
I 100% assumed that video was a Krispy Kreme advertisement. It felt like the whole thing was organized by a PR intern lol.

Maybe one day you can play the Battlestar Galactica board game again? Its not strategy but its a board game so it fits the theme.
They have played it before, but I don't remember their opinion on it so I don't know how likely it is for them to play it again.

there's nothing wrong with dailies. Elder Scrolls Online has a Crown Store and you can buy Crowns to spend in it but as an alternative, you can do 3 daily tasks, and a weekly task, that aren't that hard, to earn Seals of Endeavor. They aren't quick to build up but aren't hard to earn every day and week, things you'd be doing anyway like "harvest 10 metal nodes" or "fight 2 duels" or "kill 10 reptiles with class skills." Once Seals of Endeavor build up, you can get stuff equivalent to pretty nice stuff bought with Crowns using Seals. It's an alternative to spending money for Crowns, you spend time instead.
resenting that kind of Daily is like walking past a series of dollar bills on the ground saying "I can't be troubled to pick those up!" Which, sure, but it's free currency.
I love how they're basically like "Egypt is easy," "Elam is hard." Yeah, look at history. 😅 I mean isn't it obvious that mountain people would have a tougher time at building an empire than river people?
I think they're so used to playing games and thinking in terms of mechanics they often miss the "lore" aspects
Edit: 1:23:13 TBH, Elam should be able to go east, but then you'd have to bring Persia in and when does it stop?
Balance is important in a multiplayer game. They could easily take off some desert of Egypt and give Elam more mountains. That giant desert in the corner reserved exclusively for Egypt is both ahistorical and imbalanced. The desert wasn't half the value as any other land, it was entirely worthless. Remove a lot of it and suddenly Egypt's position isn't that great.

I agree. But also if it were entirely historical rivers and their floodplains would be 90% of the game. I feel like the makers were going for something between historical and totally balanced-and this is noted by the difficulty rating next to each culture before the game starts.
Sad about the result of the second game. I was really hoping Duncan could manage to win even against the teamup.
