This is great, I've always had a problem reading the belt deflrction window. The way you did it is much better, using the scale on the gauge itself. Thanks!
Good technique, as it could be difficult to see the bottom of the belt at free state while attempting to take advantage of the handy window in the belt guard.
Usual Harley complex solution to a mechanically simple application. Whilst on has anyone changed their drive belt recently ? Think they should have copied some of Victory's ideas ie primary drive chains are a little bit dated and drive belts are a serviceable item that may require replacement.......
Good point . I would NEVER have my belt at 5/16 deflection as that is way to tight. Good luck with the wheel bearings and early belt failure. No reason you can't have a good inch.
This is one of the better tutorials on how to check belt deflection on a Harley, well done, thank you.

Best tutorial I have seen on this subject. Thanks.
measurement's are taken at mid point. 1/2 way between trans pully and rear wheel
Talk about making a simple task more prolonged. Omg you’ll be there all day. Lmao
Talk about making a simple adjustment prolonged😣
Sorry, I do tend to rattle on.
I have an 06 ultra limited. The service manual states rear wheel off the ground 3/16-1/4. They have a measurement for on the jiffy stand too.
i like to put the bike between 2 trees pur a strap on the front wheel and a come a long on the back wheel and pull the belt back as tight as i can
One things not right, that took is suppose to be placed in the muddle between the 2 belt pulleys looks like your to far forward

perfect sense now the penny has dropped thanks for the vid
Might want to replace the missing derby cover bolt too
There were three missing. Got them all back in. Thanks for watching.

A fish scale will work
All drive belts are standard!!!!!!
That sentence means nothing. They have similar tension adjustments but that isn't what you posted.
Nope, My Chieftain is 1.3 inches
Not standard, you talk crap
@@Pawsforreal HARLEY
those increments are useless, find the tight point of the belt by rotating wheel, than adjust belt.if you can adjust when warm

@@340rps Fake news.
Best to check belt tension at ambient temperature per service manual
Clearly your viewers are not intelligent enough to notice that you are using the Motion Pro Belt Tension Gauge Tool exactly correct.
