There are third party apps for youtube, instagram and twitter that somewhat work. Telegram works perfectly for communication. For music there used to be a spotify client but I have no idea if it still works since I just downloaded all of my music. If your phone randomly restarts it's the battery (also causes random freezes or stuttering) - don't forget these phones are almost 8 years old at this point.
About continuum.. Turns out you don't actually need the dock, you can just use any random USB-C to HDMI cable - I used it a lot for playing movies or powerpoint presentations and the performance was decent
Musicloud still works
Even though Microsoft Windows Phone might be dead, but Microsoft still made the Surface Duo and other devices after that which the does look like work more like Android and not using the mobile software with e.g. limited app support.
i recalled my brother getting a lumia it broke in like a week
I use it as daily driver. Should you buy it? I can recommend it (go for the 950XL instead).
You are a bit noobish in using the camera, it still can compete with the main iPhone Pro Max 14 one. Especially daylight and macro shots destroy the Apple on IQ. It is a bit slow, but that is no big deal. Manual control is excellent.
The best thing of this phone is that it does what it does perfectly, and the things it doesn't are actually nice. This phone is the magic option to declutter your life and cut down stress and fomo. Such a relief to ditch social stuff on the go.
Oh and CZcams works great, in the browser. Somehow Google's Explorer support is excellent.
If you need Instagram, Facebook, Telegram, X etc it all works.

Ohh you missed cortana. The windows phone answer to Siri that was actually amazing. It kicked siris ass!! No one would believe it in 2014 but I was massively disappointed in Siri when I got the iPhone. It didn't even come close to cortana. In 2019.
I wanted to include Cortana, but it stopped working on 2021
@Sankew ohh really that late? I loved my windows phone. I run windows phone skins on my Samsung. The lack of apps killed the phone.
Cortana was the best virtual assistant i have ever used. Still to this day. And I didn't have to buy windows ear pod pros for cortana to text and email people.
@Sankew you can see and use some cortana stuff still. Example the speech to text in Microsoft Word on mobile. Adding grammar and punctuation to my text is fantastic. It might not be such a big deal in 2024 but it was mind blowing in 2014.

Why wasn't Groove Music installed by default? It was originally shipped with the phone, and worked like Spotify, but if you had downloaded music to your phone you'd be able to play it without a subscription. The best thing about it though was that it also connected to OneDrive, so any music you had on it could be streamed for free. Yeah, 30Gigs of music "on" a phone in 2010 was nice
you can make the social media stuff work if you install android emulator or files that downloads special apps and makes it useable for 2023
