  • Mark Driscoll interviews R.C. Sproul
Several years ago, Pastor Mark had the honor of sitting down to interview the legendary theologian, author, teacher and pastor, R.C. Sproul, PhD. In honor of the anniversary of his birthday, we are re-releasing this talk for your enjoyment, as R.C. enjoys his birthday worshipping Jesus face-to-face.

Love our brother R.C. Sproul. I have been blessed to consume and enjoy volumes of his work. Isn’t it ironic that we are enjoying R.C. on a technology and platform that he did not personally embrace! Makes me laugh! While at the same time greatly thankful that this interview was captured and shared.

I loved this! I got so upset when I went to a church grief group ( I have just lost my husband) and a man came in expressing his wonderfulness and set his ego into a group of people coming to heal and fellowship in the Christ I think we follow. I expressed myself, because I was upset in a foolish man like I see so much of people using everything but our great foundation CHRIST and the wonderful word full of healing. The church is using videos and workbooks looking towards useless information feeling smart in themselves. I want to fellowship, but I am struggling with the church. Thank you for your understanding of your need for need a savior. "Your word have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against you". I want to see my humanity and the complete need for the Lord and comfort as I journey in this life. Very uplifting , thank you.

Laura, so much of the church can be disappointed and immature. Heck, it is likely that many going there are not even born again. I don't say this to cast aspersions, but just for general awareness. I hope you find a couple of friends, or two, a couple Christian women who you can be open with and have good fellowship with. May God lead you. Also, you might find mature women on facebook with who you can fellowship. God be with you during this phase of your journey.

He’s a wolf in wolfs clothing. Had a big mega church in CA years ago and had to “step down” because of fraud issues, abusive and angry outburst at staff, plagiarizing, and plenty more scandals. Since he is not biblically qualified to be a pastor and was told to stay away from the ministry, did he actually stay away from the ministry and take up a different career? Of course not! The wolves never do. They need to be driven out.

I dont understand how he can interview Sproul so nicely here.. and years later be completely intellectually dishonest to post this on twitter:
Cessationism would have you believe that Satan is still supernaturally active in the world, but the Holy Spirit is not. That’s hopeless Christianity 🤷‍♂
Driscoll knows thats not what cessationists believe...

    Excellent interview.
R.C. says that the huge issue for the future Kirk is Christology. I would add to that.
Christ; The God, who became Real Man is correct, but the opposite is the worldwide cultus which drives the hopeless postmodern "Transhumanist" agenda.
In this upside down ethos, it is the darwinian man, of whom "evolutionary upward development" is The (presumed) "New Imperative". This is "the issue" for at least the next twenty years.
This coming "fusion" of man/machine, this worship of A.I., plus the coming of robots, direct shunts into the brain, human/animal hybrids, so called "alien" contact and other items is the stormfront. We see entanged a revival of occultism and actual pagan ritual.
So, yes the coming battles are over the definition of "man", and so, in Christology; it is the Man Jesus, versus the Neitzschean over-man. That coming monster, which is no longer fully human at all! Hence, the loaded term, used by The Maker calling him "The animal" (beast) must be contrasted fiercely with The Real Man! The Auhor of life, the Builder of the real, made man in His imageo. This "new thing coming" is not any longer even an actual human, in that the DNA is wrong!
One, is a disgusting mockery of "glory". Our Holy Champion, IS Glory In Person! The victory is His, and by gift, ours as well!
I am VERY glad that this afternoon interview was recorded.
His peace be upon your house.

He didn’t answer the first question at all. He talked about there being different tenses of the word “will” in Greek and that those different tenses could somehow be interpreted into God having different types of wills. But from what I just researched the word “will” in 1 Timothy 2:4, “[God] who will have all men to be saved”, is the exact same tense of the word “will” in John 5:21, “the Son quickeneth whom he will”, and Romans 9:18, “Therefore he hath mercy on whom he will have mercy, and whom he will he hardeneth.”
So it comes to down to God’s Will being that all would choose to come to Him, to the knowledge of the Truth, which is who He is.
I don’t know why people stumble over God giving humans the freedom to choose Him or not. It’s all over the Bible.
