I spent endless energy mocking Ryan Leaf for years, so now that he's just this incredible story and inspiration, I'm going to spend the same amount of energy praising him. My favorite sports story of the past 20 years. Keep it going, brother!
100%. Leaf has turned into such an inspirational person. Dude got knocked down. Made mistakes. Fell numerous times but now he’s up. Battling. Demonstrating to everyone that we’re all flawed people. But you gotta keep fighting and never give up. I wish him the best.
Hard not to like someone that owns up to their mistakes and flaws and betters themselves. He’s a great host too while filling in.
In 2020 he was charged with domestic violence and was put on parole again.
Who said Ryan Leaf is a bust? He continues to inspire and bring hope to real people! Honestly he is HOF dude for me. Wishing you the best Ryan!
What an awesome call for Ryan. I was too young when he came into football so have only seen or heard his story through videos. That being said, this dude clearly went through and got through A LOT. An awesome and wholesome moment. Ryan has been, hands down, the best fill in when Rich is out. Hope he gets his own national show one day.
Ryan, I appreciate your story and what a decent human being you’ve become. You deserve your success.
Apparently.
Best of luck Nick! Thanks Ryan for all your acts of service!
Just powerful and beautiful to witness these moments
Ryan Leaf is the fucking man.
Damn, this is one powerful phone call
This is becoming one heck of a redemption story. Bravo Mr. Leaf!
Wow just a blessing all around with Nick and Ryan just bravo 👏
Bless you Ryan. Your struggles and your work in getting through those makes others feel like they can make it too.
That will bring a tear to you're eye!
Dude that’s awesome! Congrats Nick !
Damn, i got something in my eye!
Are you guys trying to make me cry? Anyways, I love these stories. Congrats.
No matter how far down the scale we have gone we will see how our experience can benefit others. Gives me so much joy to hear these phone calls. I love how I have found that our purpose in life is to help each other. It’s saved my life without a doubt.
I want Ryan Leaf to be the permanent substitute for Rich whenever he’s out. Love Rich! But I think Ryan’s perspective is 🔥 and his perseverance is all inspiring 💪🏻
Ryan is so much better than Rich that it’s crazy to even think about
Triumph of the human spirit. It'd have been easy to give up, give in and blame the world for how things turned out. It takes an immense amount of perseverance and determination to overcome the kind of adversity (albeit self-inflicted) that engulfed Ryan Leaf. He went from being a spoiled prima-donna pro athlete to become a very self-aware and mature person who helps others. Happy for him & his loved ones.
Very well put. Triumph of the human spirit about sums it up.
Awesome....👏👏👏👏
Love these testimonials
I hated Ryan Leaf since his Charger days
Then I got addicted to heroin. And Leaf got sober. Now, I love the man.
21 months and counting for me
Hell man my eyes are wet😭 wasn't expecting this, Wow! Praise Jesus!
I just past 2 years and revisit Ryan’s Story numerous times when I have difficulty. True miracle
Being a 98 born kid from Dubai, I’m so glad I never got to experience the Ryan leaf nfl experience because this segment is how I only want to think about this guy. What an inspiration
I think every piece of your story is very pivotal and necessary in shaping your ability to help others. Glad to see you finding happiness in helping others, keep up the good work man.
I has a great day but this has been the best part of my day
Really proud of both Ryan and Nick!!! Congrats to both of you
Wow, Ryan, thank you so much for not giving into the urge to get choked up when you responded to your first caller there. If you had drawn one tear there was a couple hundred thousand of us that wouldve been balling over our lunchtimes.
Ryan Leaf went from an NFL bust story to a legend. We love ya Ryan.
What a beautiful video.
That was awesome.
Hell yeah, man!
Good job, Fellas!
This is absolute power; more and more am I becoming a fan of Leaf standing in for Rich and hope this dude can begin his own pod soon enough. From Sports takes to helping others make than 180 turn this is amazing!!!

The therapeutic value of one addict helping another is without parallel.
My goodness, so impressed, loss of words because my emotions are taking over while viewing this segment. I’ve had a nothing kinda feeling about Ryan mainly because I a raiders fan. Listening to him makes me look inside me and see I’ve gotta lot of work ahead. Man you have gone through a lot, I didn’t know. Ryan if ya don’t mind takin me on, I’m a Ryan Leaf fan. Nice work Sir.

Chargers fan since the 60’s and I would just like to add my heart felt love to Ryan. I understand it’s day to day and so forth, here’s to your continued success to you and your family.
I am so happy for Ryan turning his life around. It was just a case of too much too fast and he had underlying undiagnosed untreated mental health issues. He sought the help he needed and now he’s becoming a symbol to those looking for that hope
Good for you Ryan, you turned out to be a fine young man and I appreciate you Sir!
Keep going Nick!!!
Awesome.

Love me some Ryan Leaf
now a Ryan Leaf fan
Was it Junior Seau?
🙌🙌
If Ryan Leaf had won 4 Super Bowls, been an MVP 3 times, and a Hall of Famer, I wouldn't be as big of a fan of his as he is right now as a man.
Leaf can be the GOAT at something just needs time.
👏👏👏👏
That was beautiful
My favorite clip!
wow
Ryan rokkin sobriety. AWESOME....
Wining Lives > winning games
I quit drinking every other day. With out drugs my life loses meaning.
Why couldn’t jamarcus russell tale accountability like him
even I can't deny this was pretty tight.
ryan, please call fernando tatis and tell him not to screw up his career in san diego...
this dude was stealing meds from kids. That's wild af to me that's then able to speak to kids again talking about his addiction. But ok.
Rad
Can't stand Ryan Leaf
