Papa Roach - Last Resort was the original and the perfect way to describe the two is that Papa Roach's version was for the angsty teens that we were when it came out and this version is for the adults that are trying to heal

@@notrashtolerated I think part of the reason the original might seem teen angsty is because it's 24 years old, and the video is kind of cheesy. I would suggest listening to it with a lyric video, or just audio. It's more upbeat, not as dramatic, and it doesn't have the harsh vocals, but the original was meaningful to a lot of people. For me, I think the two video versions are more like an inside voice (Ronnie's) and an outward appearance (Jacoby's). A lot of people who take their own lives are fun and funny, and nobody realizes what's going on with them. People suffer in different ways.

Ronnie got Jacoby’s permission(lead singer of Papa Roach, who wrote this song about his friend who was his roommate at the time who tried to commit suicide, they found him and took him to a hospital and went into a mental facility, he eventually did get better and living a great life today)! I really enjoyed this reaction! Ronnie is artist, he doesn’t have to be boxed in his voice can do anything! Can’t wait for you to do The Drug In Me Is You, by the way this song isn’t about a girl, it’s about Ronnie, he wrote it while in prison looking at his reflection in a mirror, in a cell and then doing The Drug In Me Is You (Reimagined) please do this in one video, most reactors do it that way! Then in another video I’m Not A Vampire original then in the same video I’m Not A Vampire (Revamped) this was written in prison also! Both the reimagined and revamped 10 years from the original songs with the same lyrics there is a few new verses on the revamped song but the rest of the lyrics are exactly the same. Hold on to your seat, you won’t believe there the same song! Looking forward to these reactions! In his song Watch The World Burn the world is burned up and your right, this is a rebuilding! Have you heard the Papa Roach classic and Last Resort, if not react to it so you know what the classic sounds like 👍 Everyone goes through things, glad you got through it! Music and a song like this has helped millions and now with this version it will helped millions more. There is a cool video of Ronnie having Jacoby listen to it for the first time it’s worth a reaction! Everyone makes mistakes but that doesn’t define who someone is change is always possible, people learn and grow from mistakes and that makes us who we are today! Keep doing what you’re doing!🤟🎶🥰

Definitely hard to predict what you’re gonna get with FIR.. except for stunning visuals of course. I knew the original, but because of the vibe of it, I’d never taken as much notice to the lyrical content. This version brought the lyrics front and centre which I loved.

I wonder if you could say the same about recovering from traumas or severe mental health disorders. In my experience some of that rings true
14:20 - Right, we're all fighting our own wars and what's worth focusing on is thriving and making it through rather than dwelling overlong in the pain, especially to the point that the pain becomes your substitute for personality. Thankfully that's not the norm, but it remains a good reason to limit trauma dumping on the channel. I can see expressing that this song touched you because of personal history and the loss of people close to you without diving deeper into that.

Yes this song is a "cover" you could say, but Ronnie put his own flavor in it. Pappa Roach's version was more upbeat and Jacoby wrote the song for his roommate after he committed suicide. But in this version the lyrics stand out so much more and like you said the video adds to that so much. You should check out Popular Monster, it's probably one of their most famous songs.

Lol, I really like you! Your so real n raw. For some reason i like it most when you get so flustered w/organizing your thoughts. I'm sorry hearing what your struggles have been or still are. But guess what? Thats not a pity party for you but a triumph for you. Your "mental health" struggles (if you will) and how you HAVEN'T internalized them is the best way to get thru them. You are a great repusentation on how important it is for others going thru the same is what makes people an inspiration to those needing to hear those things. Not just by what u have to share on the subject objectively but simply that their not ALONE in their situation! You become an instant friend to some who might not have any? or anyone to talk to about what can seem overwhelmng to them? maybe they should/could talk about it to someone! See ya on the next one

@notrashtolerated only if you're not familiar with the original. Knowing both with show you just how much Ronnie made this song is own. It is two vastly different takes on the same song with the same lyrics
I think what you're trying to say is It's ok to feel this way, but it's NOT ok to continue to feel this way. It's mind over matter, if you continue to pity party and don't get help then you shouldn't be celebrated. We need to celebrate overcoming obstacles not acknowledging obstacles and allowing them to stop us.
