      Most soda is very corrosive and you can dissolve the outside of a can by putting it into a container with the soda (so the soda is touching the outside). It is unlikely that a can would last long enough to be shipped to a store, let alone make it to your fridge before the can dissolves enough to leak soda everywhere. The lack of metallic taste is just a great side effect.

If you want to try this, take a soda can, shake it up a little, then tap the sides and the top to get the results they were hoping for :) Hope this helped!

      Right; the tapping is to break the ubbbles at the top so you can crack it slowly without the bubbles leaking out the air vent. If you just brute force the pressure release there' no difference... but without bubbles, you can crack it and let the pressure out slowly without it spurting.

      If you hit the can on the side or the top the soda will get shaken up a bit, which can lead to a higher risk of the soda erupting if you are not careful.

    • @streamware7746
      @streamware7746 Před 4 lety +13

      When you shake the soda, what happens is that the carbonation within the liquid loosens up, and the rapid depressurization of the soda can causes a chain reaction which you observe it as a eruption.
      When you tap the top of the soda can it causes the loose carbonation to surface and prevents the chain reaction from occuring in the first place.
      The test as shown in the video wasnt very scientific

    If you shake the soda can like that, the tapping won't help. Since that wasn't realistic to how a real can would get jostled, like at a barbeque or in a car, the tapping wouldn't help and you would also have to tap it way more than either of you did. I know this because I do it myself, and it does help. Still love your vids! ♥️
