      @@iancraig if you look at the end of the speed ramp pan of the car park, you can see some judder even in this video

    • @iancraig
      @iancraig Před 27 dny

      @@kevinpick1469 you often find that people accustomed to 24/25fps just don’t see judder. That’s why Tamara says that she hasn’t experienced it. With modern TV’s that are bright and contrasty, they almost highlight judder.
      There is also another thing that most CZcamsrs never mention….. in the cinema, we get 24fps shot at all kinds of (slow) shutter speeds, but the picture is only shown for 1/48 with a black frame following for 1/48 or maybe less, so the blur is the same as the ‘shown’ frame rate. That is, the picture is flashed for 1/48 with the same shutter, followed by a black frame to change the picture. Our brains then insert an imagined amount of movement for the black frame. It’s called persistence of vision.
      However, on CZcams, we see the picture for a full 1/24 of second with 1/48 of blur. No gap. So the next picture jumps suddenly to its next position, with our brains unable to ‘insert’ smoothness. That’s why judder is awful on digital video.
      However, people are accustomed to it and just don’t see it. Or they accept it as ‘cinematic’ because we often see judder in the movies!
      There is no way around it, other than use a faster frame rate, but then people accustomed to ‘cinematic judder’ can’t accept that smoothness and say that it looks too real, and smooth!
      I was watching a John Wayne movie a few weeks back, and during action, I froze the picture. There was an enormous amount of blur. They must have used a much wider shutter angle so that the picture became a blurry mess on still frame. So no chance of judder. They went to great lengths to disguise judder in those days and still got it……
      Eventually, the movie people will probably move away from a frame rate that was chosen to save film stock but still retain motion. We will all then accept the smoothness of faster frame rates as normal and see that the old movies were jam packed with judder!
      I don’t mind 24fps as long as there is very little camera movement. As soon as I start swing the camera around, I raise the frame rate or else, there will be judder.
