  • The ongoing construction of 'Minnie' a 1" scale traction engine as described by L C Mason - the state of build after 1 year is shown, hopefully given another year the model will be nearing completion!
    This one is built mainly from sheet and bar stock with castings so far only used for some of the shaft bearings.

    Great video and thanks for taking the time to share you have show stages and very useful details of the construction.
    I'm planning a 2 inch Minnie so this is a great reference wish you well with the rest of the construction.

    Hi thank you for sharing your video looks like it's coming along very well I'm also building the same traction engine as you but i'm not as far advanced as you I started with the boiler and the fly wheel just marking out the horn plates at the moment may I ask how you cut your key ways L C Mason suggests making a sleeve but i'd prefer using some sort of cutter and scrape the key way in

    Where abouts is the fusible plug on these boilers?
