- Election strategist Prashant Kishor is likely to join the Congress soon, sources say. A decision will be finalised in his meeting with Sonia Gandhi, the third in two weeks. In his first meeting last week with Sonia Gandhi and her children Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Prashant Kishor, or "PK", made a presentation outlining a revival plan for the Congress and a strategy to win upcoming polls in states as well as the 2024 general election.

The Gandhis shouldn’t worry about the ‘threat’ of the old guards opposing the induction of PK. The old guards don’t have a future outside of the Congress. Nor can they win elections for their party. PK would be a lifesaver for Congress. For all their mistakes of the past, the Gandhis could redeem themselves by accepting PK’s terms and giving him the freehand to change their organisation.

When They lost 2014 I thought that they have hit rock bottom and then in 2019 I realised I was wrong about them hitting rock bottom as they hit even lower and then few months back election of 5 states proved that they could go even lower. So never say never.

He failed to influence BJP and his wishes to become the man at helm of affairs there did not materialize. The BJP leaders even though gave him importance and lent their ears to his plans, were fully aware that the party set up and not his plan of action gave them a clear path way to success. When BJP was not imterested in him, he smoothly jumped in mamatas fold and as trinamool's rank and file were mostly the erstwhile communists who were goons were capable of organising people's groups with vested interests and the threat to voters to annihilate them and drive away bangladesis, materialised and mamata came to power in bengalbfor a second term. She also understood that the money spent on him was invain and their own mighty set up played their role in enthroning her. Now lurking in the darkness he found a ray of hope in sonia, who herself and her party are in a state of utter debacle, and will jump in to yhe congress band wagon, atleast to declare he himself was instrumental in reviving congress party. But this is not going to happen and we can see him to elope in the nesr future.

We are 4 years away from 2024. Congress not only should think of correcting itself at the top (that too indeed is needed) but try to set up small committees in each ward or a limited area where the members would totally concentrate on attending the grievances of commoners and spend at least 3/4 hours in finding solutions. If need be interacting with the Govt. Departments is to be done. This would give them the much needed access to the common voters. This 'access' is to be transformed into votes at a future date. This could be, so to say, its present day ' Seva Dal'. No political party in the country has such 'Seva Dal' or its equivalent. These committees must be out of bounds for rowdy and criminal elements. Invite honourable, committed men. Thinking this is a day dream? Why not give a try I say? Begin at some point, in some State. Southern states would still welcome a National Party to handle things rightly at the Centre. But the Congress should be ready to accept its follies of the past and willing to restructure itself and do the necessary exercises to rejuvenate itself. Does it have the will and strength to do so is the Big question.
