The only statement from Dr. Phil that I disagree with is about one of his sons. When he told him that he wanted to be a musician, he replied, “Great, but get your college degree.” Also, depending on success from fame or a degree as a backup plan aren’t the only choices in the world. People don’t need a college degree to be successful. The stepping stones for professional work are high school diplomas or GEDs. Beyond that, people should know vocational training is also a great option.

It’s tricky, skipping school isn’t ideal, but I also think he’s smart for questioning the system, I didn’t really question the system. I just went to school because the government told me to lol, but I also think kids should understand why they’re in school instead of just going through the motions

Tbh, a lot of parts about school is pointless. They don't teach you how to finance, how to buy a house, how to get a job, how to drive, and how to live. Most people don't even remember much of what they were taught in school

Amancio Gaona was 14 in 1950 in Spain and when he left school he didn't just sit around at home telling everyone he was going to be a fashion designer and make clothes in his room with no plan. He left and got a JOB that gave him the skills and tools he needed later.

He isn't there (or wasn't at that time). They first need to learn how to communicate effectively with one and another. Only then will he be able to cope with setbacks or other bumps he will inevitably have to face during his studies. Relapsing back to old behaviours happens so easily since a new positive attitude takes a lot of (neurological rewiring, Thus practice).

I kind of understand the kid. The parents should do some counseling to him in private to talk about his dreams and what he wants on his life. Sometimes, teenagers just wanted to asked for emotional support from their own family to what they wanna do in their life so we should not prevent them from reaching out to their dreams, instead we should support and guide them to the right path.

I’ve been watching dr.phil since i was about 12 im 26 now and i can’t remember him sending boys away. Some of those parents were just as desperate and the boys were bad, he never sent them away to those camps though. Makes you think.
