As much as I love Disney (certain aspects of it, at least), I really do think that they need a real slap in the face and wake up to see the damage they're doing. I agree with Matpat in that we need an escape from the world's many, many problems, and making unnecessary remakes (looking at you, "Snow White"), sequels, and making movies with depressed, disillusioned characters isn't it. While we do need to know what's happening in our world, being surrounded with too much bad news and other BS will make their audiences burnt out completely (and unfortunately, I believe we're already at that point). They clearly CAN make original stories, they've done it before, but if Good Ole Mickey Mouse keeps on walking the path he's in... Well, it's been fun.
Sorry for the long ramble, I just want Disney to return to what made them successful in the first place.
Hopefully Wish is successful.

I think Disney is having a rough patch like Doug Walker says.
They had them after Walt died with the 1970's into the mid 80's
-then a upward period with the Renaissance,
-then another slump period in the mid 2000's,
-then another revival in the 2010's through I would say 2016.
Now they are having another slump this one more severe than the others, but they will grow, develop, and change and come out better for it.
The problem this one is so severe is also their involvement in politics

This case just happened to deal with a thin skinned man who thinks himself some sort of dictator and didn’t like that someone dare speak out against him.

To be fair, I was hoping for a Zootopia 2, and Inside Out 2 could be interesting.
But I do agree that churning out sequels for series that feel like their story's been long wrapped up, is clear nostalgiabat/cash grab on their part.
It's so refreshing to hear someone voice the same opinion I have on Snyder's Superman vs Batman.
I did business , tourism and hospitality in school ( live in a coastal City so money to be made ) and as part of all of them you had to budget like hell
Business : Literally will give you a multiple supplier , customers and what nots in a case study and make you figure out how to pull a profit
Tourism : Your given a budget , deadline , requirements and much more and you have to in detail put together how you'd manage both your time and money
And finally hospitality where we literally had to make a pop-up restaurant in the school with a crap budget because the government didn't think trades were needed ( yes they are stupid ) and trust me when I say we made every cent count even bringing things ourselves , finding , borrowing no matter what it was getting done and at the end of it all we we all individually had to do the accounting for it and present it individually to the teachers and God help you if it didn't all add up
All of these things were Hammered into us until we knew it off by heart and some how Disney's "Genius" , "Revolutionary" creators of tommorow didn't or couldn't understand it
I love that when they were talking about the announced sequels, they completely avoided talking about Toy Story, as if to say "We know this one shouldn't happen, it's not even worth talking about" lol
To be fair on the animation side, alot of lower budgets on those films either mean the artists are underpaid or (at worst) overworked, even great films like ATSV have had really bad working conditions as a result, having that "reshoot" problem that you'd figure would be easily avoided in the animation medium.
Except the argument of "oh it's a lower budget" doesn't work when you take into account that movies like Indiana Jones 5 needed to make at least 900 Million dollars back at the Box office JUST to break fucking even once you factor in that the budget for the movie itself was up to 300 Million dollars, then having to pay additional money for marketing which will probably be give or take 10% of the budget so that 300 Million now shoots to 450 Million then having to pay the theaters showing the film their cut of the box office profits which as a golden rule is usually around 50% shooting the break-even point all the way up to 900 Million.
Restaurant workers, janitors, teachers and other essential jobs like that are underpaid, animators and special effects artists get paid good salaries for making movies and shows... they make more than the average teacher or restaurant manager does
Hey Renegades, a few notes on your plans to tentpole:
1. Bit trickier to do with the reaction channel, isn't it? I mean, it depends on what's hot when it comes out, and it's not like you can wait a whole month to see before you calendar the vid to react to it.
2. For the video games, I'd say the best way to tentpole is to switch between Triple A and niche.

As far as their upcoming sequels, Zootopia 2 is the only one that MIGHT be decent because I thought the setting of the first movie had a lot of untapped potential. Frozen, Inside Out, and Toy Story though? Their potential seems very much tapped.

Actually the super mario bros movie made barely 1.3 not 1.5 billion just saying... and it wasnt just illumination and Nintendo making it, universal was the distributor and financed half the cost
see, the problem with studios making streaming services, and to a lesser extent exclusive licenses. is that you are responsible for ALL the content on it, unlike say Netflix where someone else will be adding content while you are making your next one. plus people don't want to buy 20+ streaming services, so the would be more likely to pirate, it is an industry that is killing itself in greed.

For reshoots, I still can't believe what they did with the latest Ant-Man. The original ending had Kang win, escaping the Quantum Realm and now he's loose in the Marvel universe and our heroes lost, what a great way to set up the new big bad for the MCU. Instead, literally a month before its release they reshot the ending so he lost, the guy who was meant to be the next Thanos, the guy who supposedly has killed many versions of the Avengers across the multiverse by this point lost against... Ant-Man. Why in the hell should I care when the next Avengers film comes along?
So essentially what you're saying is that "Avengers 5: The Kang Era" (or whatever it's title was supposed to be which I forget at the moment, but I remember that it had "Kang" in it) is basically cancelled. As interested I might've been in it i'm honestly glad that that's the case, if that's the case that is. If it isn't it should be, in my opinion.
@@gameman3981 it's not cancelled, we're just getting different variants of Kang in that film, which I'm not a fan of. Quantumania set up Kang as a character, then killed him, but because the multiverse is a thing we're getting a whole bunch of different versions of him in the next Avengers film, as we saw in the post-credits scene. I just have no reason to care about those other versions, who were supposedly afraid of the one we saw in Ant-Man, so if the most dangerous one of them was taken out by Ant-Man, why should I care about the other ones? It'd be like if we got a different Thanos in every single movie before Infinity War who got weaker each time, there's no buildup because it's not the same character and we know they can be beaten.
There are Kang variants in the comics but typically there's only one Kang that gets a lot of focus, and the one we got in Ant-Man matched up pretty well with that one, and the original ending implies that he was meant to carry on, but their decision to reshoot at the last minute implies they really aren't sure about the direction of the MCU.
@@tomtudorweaver1078 Well, that's a big dissapointment. I would even dare to say that it's the biggest MCU-related dissapointment i've had so far regarding the parts of it that I care about.
Also, just to make it clear: I have not seen any of the Ant-Man movies, nor have I watched a single episode of the Loki TV-show (i'm mentioning that show because that's where the then "main" MCU-Kang showed up as far as I understand) so yeah; and literally just because I can mention it (and because it's related to Kang) I was first introduced to the character of Kang (specifically "Kang The Conqueror") through a Lego video-game of all things with said game being "Lego Marvel Superheroes 2.".
To be honest my first thought when finish it's main story was unironically "This being adapted as a story in the MCU would be super cool. If that happened i'd lose my shit (so-to-speak, in a good way."
If you're interested in Marvel and Lego videogames I would highly recommend playing Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 actually. Personally I really like the game, especially because it introduced me to quite a few characters and their variants that I didn't know of and versions that I didn't know existed of characters that I did know of. If you would like some examples for some reason here you have a few:

@@gameman3981 Not a problem. I did play the first Lego game but didn't play the second. I mainly got into Marvel growing up through cartoons and my brother was big into comics. The thing is Kang I don't think is hard to adapt, the problem is doing all the Thanos style buildup is just tired now. I don't care about the big world ending/universe ending stakes anymore, I'd take a smaller scale Spider-Man or Daredevil story any day. I'd recommend watching Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes, that is my favorite adaptation of the Avengers comics, and Kang is a great villain in that series.

I havent cared about amything Marvel since Infinity War. That was the ending for me. Endgame was a huge letdown and took real the stakes away, imo.

One thing I notice while watching the video is that matpat never once brought up Disney woke agenda culture Disney attack the fans/ audience or any of Disney shady practices which contradicts there agenda during the whole video

Woke has nothing to do with it. They don't work because they are either unoriginal rehashes (little mermaid, elemental) or want to have messages without good story and characters to go with them.
Thinking that everything after Endgame is bad is a common terrible opinion. Many / most of the newer films and tv series are really good. The only actual bad ones are She - Hulk and Black Panther 2
What about Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness, Black Widow, Loki, Falcon and the Winter Soldier, or even Eternals?
