potion levels actually go up to level 256, because the amplifier in the command ranges from 0-255 with an amplifier of 0 being a level 1 potion effect, making an amplifier of 255 give a level 256 potion effect

For anyone that doesn’t know, the reason that it caps at 255 is because of the way analog computations work, ranging from 0-255 with 255 being the highest it can go, aka 100%. This is why for something like slowness, he can’t move, because he is 100% slower than normal. The reason that speed isn’t infinite is just because of hardware limitations, and coding limitations, with the way that chunks load and stuff.

It might have changed but max enchantment use to be 9993999 but if you went any higher the effects would start to slowly reverse
Don’t remember can’t number (think it was like 1205000 sharpness) but you you could eventually create a sword that healed you instead of doing damage

Well, as long as I can remember, giving yourself jump boost 255 completely prevents you from jumping at all due to a bug. Maybe in newer versions it was fixed. I only play like 1.12.2, so I dunno.
