  • Pago Pago American Samoa Temple video by Brian Olson. This video is NOT an official video of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is an attempt by me to reproduce the temple based upon information about the temple that has been released

I wish you could make a video of the original design of the Pago Pago temple from 1977. I know it was never built, but still it would be fun to see a 3D representation. Great work!

      You mean like this? photogent.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/05/OriginalProposalPagoPagoSamoa.jpg
I actually plan to add the video as part of my historic temple videos series when I hit the 1978s. Unfortunately, my last upload was in the 1940s.
The real problem with Pago is that the angle of the original render makes it near impossible to figure out the correct layout for the area behind what I presume is the Celestial Room. So, while I have made a model, I have absolutely no confidence that it is correct!

Yes! That design is so cool. I know it's a little dated, but I love it. I do love the new design too, though. It feels like it fits in the South Pacific. Like the Tahiti temple.

@@BrianOlsonPhotogent If the church made up any additional plans for it, it has to be in church archives somewhere.

Eventually, all files of import generated by the Church are handed over to the Church History Library. I know the set that features the plans for this temple (landscape, exterior elevations, floor plan and all), but, like all files that relate to temple design or temple interiors, it is closed to research. So while it exists, we will likely never get to see it!
