I have a garmin fitness watch that i've had for 4+ years now that does really well on basic distances on the course, and is always very close to those who use a range finder. But all the bells and whistles the T9 are pretty impressive and at the price I'd say it's a good deal.

Being that this is a late entry, I would like to say THANK YOU. I saw this video earlier this year and watched it again just now. After the previous viewing, and careful consideration against other GPS watches, my wife got me this watch from PlayBetter for Christmas this year, using your subname at purchase for a good discount. The packaging was AWESOME, and after making sure it was fully charged, I used it to play yesterday. I must say, I am TOTALLY PLEASED and am overjoyed with the VC T9. I agree, the screen could stand to be a bit brighter, but I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!!! Thanks Gabe, so LETS PLAY THRU!!!!

Tempo is the relationship between the time of your backswing to your downswing. They say the best ratio is 3:1. So your backswing should take 3x as long as your downswing.

It works great when swinging right handed, it's comfortable and light...
But BEWARE of the customer service...I have emailed 3 different people with voice caddie and no one has responded, not to mention both of the customer service phone numbers they have go straight to voicemail. All and all I would rather go with a company that takes care of their customers. I wouldn't recommend any voice caddie products to anyone due to customer service.

    1. What does the app behind this look like? Does it give you good improvement options based on data collections. I find the S62 app not very good.

I personally dont care about swing tempo, slope or green readings. At some point you really should learn how to read slope and greens.
Both watches i mentioned are affordable, easy to use and give us avg joes as much or more info than we need.
S42 for instance. Hit ball and look at watch. Prompts you to pick club hit. End of round it sincs with phone app(free) and will give you sky view of hole with every shot with every club and gives you info on what to work on to save strokes. What more could you want? You dont need tags. It gives you distance on every club minus chips and putts. Easy peasy.

I don't believe the clubs are identified when you hit. Meaning it took you 3 shots and 2 putts to complete a hole. That would make it harder to do post around analysis to see how far you are hitting your clubs. If you use a fairway wood off the tie vs your driver it would only show 1st shot. Arccos analysis is very good, but I also have to make post-round adjustments (mainly putting strokes)

I have one. After 5 rounds still don't care for it. Very finicky to touch commands. Slows down your play. A lot of the information not as valuable in actual use as it seems it might be. May junk this and get another Garmin but the two I had have died from unfixable battery issues.

What’s better, the T9 or the shot scope x5?

Wondering the same thing. I gather T9 is slightly better and has slope adjusted yardages, but X5 has the shot tracing tech with included sensors

@@vinnym5095 the feature I like about X5 is the strokes gained data. I tracked my strokes gained stats manually (write down every distance you are from the hole on your scorecard for every shot and then manually enter into a program). I learned a lot about my game and where to improve. The X5 has that feature built in. 90% of my golf is on my home course, so where T9 looks better for on course gps use, I know my course well that a course map, green elevation map aren't necessary. I'm likely going for X5 for that reason, but if I played more courses I wasn't familiar with Id likely go T9. The Garmin s62 does both of these things well, but it's $150-200 more. My opinion from going down the rabbit hole last few days watching all these reviews

I will never buy another watch or product from Voice Caddie. Your watch will become obsolete right after you purchase it! I purchased the T8 about six months ago. The manufacturer never provided any type of firmware or software update like other golf watch manufacturers. I would expect the same for the T9. Buyer beware!

That looks like cheating. Part of the sport is YOU figuring out how to negotiate the course. Why don't we also get an android to hold our hands while we swing the club?
