i heard that this bike is supposed to have 18 inch rear wheel. the ones that were apparently from the uk had upside down forks and a 19 in rear wheel? still could be an 89?
I just finished restoring my own 1889 KX125. What fork boots did you go with? I got some DayStars but am disappointed with the quality/thinness (back in the day they were thicker). Here's my 125 being ridden at a track yesterday: czcams.com/video/p_igIfXhy5M/video.html
beautiful bike. in the process of rebuilding my 89 right now
Mike Akey same
I bought a 89 KX 125 brand new in Rochester Minnesota, sold it in 1990. Brings back memories
Beautiful bike i love the late 80s to early 90s bikes brings back memories of my 1988 cr
Favourite 125 and fav year by far👌🏻👌🏻
Sweet suspension in '89... Nobody much got excited for the motor, though.
Nice bike
I raced a brand new one in 1989 & '90. That bike was nearly as fast as my BMX bike.

sounds like a pissed off chainsaw haha im just pulling my motor apart on mine now. Its exactly like this but in bad shape. Im gonna do full reco.
'89 has a twin piston front brake caliper, either yours has been changed or that's a 1988 KX125, hard to tell if it has the big forks ('89) or not.
The graffic is 89 but I forgot about the dual piston. Who knows.
Judging by the front rotor I'm going say it's an 88... And the legs look a little thin for an 89....
And that looks like a 18" rear wheel, which would be from an 88.

@@philliposhea7767 , USA 89 models went to a 19" wheel and kept standard forks.
