I'm an Ipswich fan and the thing is, the 'bigger club' debate is an ever evolving thing. If palace get relegated and Ipswich do get promoted (not likely under current form) and then we establish ourselves in the top flight and Palace struggle to get back up, then we'd be the bigger club. At this moment in time though, Palace are undoubtedly a bigger club than Ipswich

@@omegaman6494 bigger is such a weird term tho that everyone seems to have different definitions. Ppl weigh it completely off trophies meaning more ucls = instantly bigger no matter what. Some ppl base it off of who is the bigger name worldwide and who has a bigger worldwide fanbase, more shirt sales etc. This is probably the best way of doing it if we are talking about the word 'bigger'. Trophies don't always equate to size but ofc they help because that's how more ppl watch you and learn about you. Are forest bigger than arsenal because they've won ucls, the most famous trophy in europe? I don't think you can use that logic. If you asked everyone on this planet do you know arsenal or forest, more ppl are picking arsenal especially in this generation. This is why palace are obv bigger because they are just a more famous football club in this day and age (atm anyway)

Allowed Villa to pup them to First Division Title, and got us European Cup in 1982! That Ipswich team was one of the best EVER! Depends how you define "bigger", if it's on achievements in the game and trophies won then obviously Ipswich are much bigger than all those sides, given they have won European and domestic honours and been a leading European side for 10 years plus given England Robson and Ramsey.
If it's on support and size of ambition then with 30,000 in league one they are also bigger.
If it's on current league position and last 10-15 years then no, because they haven't been in the prem.

I do know that ipswich have only spent about 26 season in the top division in their entire history (100 plus years im guessing) which is pitiful for what someone would class as a big club. They've also had a stretch in league and 2 decades in the championship. Someone did a big club table (based on honours, historical attendance, years in top division and league position) and Ipswich came out about 27th. Not a big club. Get over it.

@@rosst8919 No one claimed Ipswich were a big club, you've totally missed the entire point. The issue is whether they are bigger than Palace. It was also claimed they had "barely" been in the top flight, but 26 seasons (in which time they also won major honours and were a top European side for a good part of that time) cannot possibly constitute "barely" being a top flight side for any period.
Ipswich aren't a big club, agreed. They are bigger than Palace, which was the whole point of the video and thread. They are also a unique club in that they come from a small town, yet have produced England's two greatest managers and certainly under robson were a top European side for several years. Again, palace have never come close to that.

@@MarlboroughBlenheim1many Ipswich fans have never seen their club win a trophy or even seen in the Premier League. Haven't even seen them in a cup final. Palace have been in the Premier for a decade and have been to the FA Cup Final recently and a semi Ipswich fans would live to be in Palace's position.
