Matt made choices based on his ethics and principles which cost him his job, the people who should hold their head in shame and be accountable are the 'no face' bosses and box tickers at sky. While I have no axe to grind with Merse, he comes across as somebody who would pretty much struggle to form valid argument or opinion on pretty much any topic other than football and so would blindly 'tow the party line' for sky. That's exactly the sort of pundit that they want, just look at the level of intelligentsia on the soccer Saturday panel now...! Matt can sleep easy at night and look in the mirror in the morning knowing he was a great player and great pundit who neither compromised his playing style or principles.
Both people made their choices no problem in that Merson clearly didn't have a problem with wearing the badge which I'm not surprised being an arsenal man.
Matt represents about 1% of the population, the tiny minority that have principles, and know right from wrong. Paul is everyone else…..neither good, nor bad, but rather easily led and malleable….its the story of humanity….
I remember back in the day when Merson would come into our local pub ( the crown, which was later called the mousetrap) to pick up his special delivery packages.
So the short story is if you're working class and want to keep your job with media corporations, be uneducated, illiterate, don't use words of more than two syllables, keep your head down and don't get ideas above your station. Ensure your conversation stays within the realms of harmless 'banter' and allow your articulate middle media studies graduate hosts and your employer's 'enlightened' staff half your age to guide you through the 'rules' and condescend to their perception and expectation of your limited intellectual capacity and vocabulary.
Merson, fine player though he was, has had serious issues with addiction. It's understandable that he might have felt that he had enough to contend with. Maybe man who loses £7m to his addiction needs to continue to earn his living. However, Le Tissier is an intelligent and highly articulate man who appears to be more financially solvent. It's highly commendable that he spoke from the heart in-spite of the consequences, namely getting sacked by Sky Sports. Merson might not be best-placed to object to living in an Orwellian dystopia. But Le Tissier clearly did not feel comfortable with what was going on in the world at the height of the Covid-19 lockdown hysteria. If freedom of speech means anything at all then it surely grants us the right to say that which others (especially the powers-that-be) do not wish to hear.
He was better and I was surprised by Merse's comment of levels, because he played for a bigger club doesn't equate to he was also a better player than anyone not at a big club

Merson you are not that bright. Just thinking about your own personal life and not the bigger picture. Matt saw something taking place which was obs wrong and had to say something. He is in the right.
Sometimes just being concerned with your personal life and not getting bogged down with the ‘bigger picture’ is the best way to be. Principles too😎
☹️
Covid made a name for Matt they now call him prat after all the garbage he spoke
He had warnings and I’m smart enough to know when not to be smart. In other words I’m a coward and will always put my job before doing what’s right when all those footballers around the world were dropping down dead…but hey, I’m still getting paid so they didn’t die for nothing.
How many footballers are there? Footballers have dropped dead before COVID.
@@iangascoigne8231the suddenly dying thing has gone awfully quiet hasn't it?
They've probably moved on to '15 minute cities' or something else they understand nothing about.
Furthermore, every study on possibly suspicious deaths after the astra-zeneca vaccine showed the overwhelming majority occurred in women, who I'm sure don't count as footballers in these guy's eyes anyway.
Tweeting nonsense conspiracy theories with no evidence is doing what’s right then????
You are spot on mate!! Most fans of football are brain dead morons, like the 2 other replies on here!!!
@@jacob4690there’s plenty of evidence. Check the excess deaths rates for a start. The media are silent because they’re owned by the globalists
Merton.....No your not the Brightest...as the old Northern Souls song goes.. You know where your interest lies.
La Tissier...a man of courage, and integrity....
Its not about being too "clever", its about honesty and integrity
Unlike most footballers he didn’t sell his soul to the devil good on Matt a true people person
Hahahaha, a true person wouldn't organise a betting scam!!!
Only one person cones out of this with respect and its not the money grabber merson. Matt is a legend👏👏
A legend? More like mentally deranged
So why did Thompson & Charlie get sacked then
Merse was supposed to be sacked as well but he threatened to kill himself if they went through with it.
@@carter3369 Hope that ain't true
Legend has it that Nicholas is still “sitting there thinking”
@@michaeljohn1978😂😂😂
They wanted to sack Matt because of BLM but couldn't make it obvious, so Charlie and Phil were sacrificed.
It's nothing to do with brightness Merson, it's moral conviction.
Merson a man whose been forgiven for many weaknesses and indiscretions but in those circumstances sold his soul. Merse got many warnings
We all know mers is a yes man … le God … legend… respect ✊
Matt had warning after warning and stood his ground...Massive respect!
Looks where it’s got him though. Merson is right, you have to play the game especially if you have a young family.
🎯👏
What a load of bollocks.
@musicman.....In the words of George Carlin, " They want obedient workers'. That's Merson.
Both people made their choices no problem in that Merson clearly didn't have a problem with wearing the badge which I'm not surprised being an arsenal man.
Matt has morals and told the truth.
Merse is a yes man who puts money above the truth.
But it is not the truth. It always was conspiracy nonsense.
I like Paul mersin but matt did the right thing stood by his principals
I didn’t know matt knew any school headteachers
So the short story is if you're working class and want to keep your job with media corporations, be uneducated, illiterate, don't use words of more than two syllables, keep your head down and don't get ideas above your station. Ensure your conversation stays within the realms of harmless 'banter' and allow your articulate middle media studies graduate hosts and your employer's 'enlightened' staff half your age to guide you through the 'rules' and condescend to their perception and expectation of your limited intellectual capacity and vocabulary.
In short, "Be an obedient worker".
I have very little but if I was offered a million a year to stay silent when I see evil I would tell them to f... off and speak out.
It’s easy to you all to have morals on CZcams when nothing is at stake.
The sheep can remain silent.
There's no need for them to bleat.

he didn't jump when they said jump that's the difference didn't sell his sole.
Le Tissier was a better player. I think he would have suited Serie A because skill was valued more than English football at the time.
He was better and I was surprised by Merse's comment of levels, because he played for a bigger club doesn't equate to he was also a better player than anyone not at a big club
He has stayed there that long because he is cheap and will do what ever he is told!!
"Never judge a man until you walk a mile in his shoes" after judging MLT decision to speak the truth regardless of the consiquences ...

When Merson, considers a person as a friend then that person knows he has hit rock bottom !! 🙄🙄🙄

Le Tissier is a legend. You can stick your warning where the sun doesn't shine.
People keeping there mouths shut is the reason the great unpleasantness went on as long as it did. Also the reason why excess death's have jumped to a record high. Matt had gumption and character. That's more than can be said for most 🤨
If you don't have your own opinion. You rely on other peoples.
Love to hear your reply Paul, now that people can see through your fake sincerity. God bless Matthew, a man of the people.
If he was that good of a mate he would have stood up to be counted and that goes for the rest of them.
Never thought much of Merson, I think even less of him now. With friends like him who needs enemies.
If your friend was sacked from a well paid job would you follow him out of the door?

Merson you are not that bright. Just thinking about your own personal life and not the bigger picture.
Matt saw something taking place which was obs wrong and had to say something.
He is in the right.
Sometimes just being concerned with your personal life and not getting bogged down with the ‘bigger picture’ is the best way to be. The trouble with 24 hours news and social media is being deluded into a sense of having to be concerned with everything that’s going on even when you have zero ability to change it. I agree with a lot of what Matt says but you're not going to keep your job if your agenda is the polar opposite to that of the station that's employing you. Of course he would have had warnings. I don't understand why people are giving Merse a hard time here he's a simple man with a lot of issues let him do what he needs to do to get by. Not everybody is in the position to make a stand.
