Same I was surprised too. I initially didn't want to pull him but I did some pulls and lucky to get him with only 20 pulls. He's playstyle is I'd say more involved and fancier than Ganyu and Tigh.
@@glitched_matrix44Yes Tighnari's is more of quick swappy play which is nice so that you can easily setup/rotate. Ganyu is just straight forward to use. Lyney is a bit more involved with all his skills, stacking and hp drain mechanic, his Arkhe and his pure raw damage which makes him fun to play imo.
And luckily this streamer is clever enough to not use those books he spent tons of time searching for upgrading them to blue books Truly a streamer of all time

Finally, your Lyney guide. Pulled for him (and won my 50/50) the minute Fontaine dropped. Lyney reminds me of the school, basic DPS units who don’t rely on elemental reactions, which is a nice change of pace from Dendro’s crazy elemental reactions.
True. Thought I’d hate lyney because I loved using zhongli yae tighnari and kazuha/Wanderer… but I pulled him anyway and he’s so fun! I went for him after yelan though, so he’s stuck at 80 with lvl 6 talents for a few days….
Lyney has blown me away. I originally summoned him despite thinking he'd be meh because I liked his design, like having the story teaser characters, and wanted his passive. But his insane personal damage and surprisingly fun playstyle have completely changed my view on him. I even ended up spending more primos on the weapon banner after initially losing to aqua (Hard to call getting aqua losing though lol). He's quickly joined the ranks of Itto and Cyno as one of my favorite dps characters.
I pulled for lyney just so I could have all the siblings so I'm pleasantly surprised by the dmg he can do even at level 40 talent 1 😭 can't wait to fully level him
The burning effect on enemies also counts as them being affected by pyro for the purposes of the talent, giving dendro (ex Baizhu) more value over other off-element supports. Still better to just run an anemo unit like Kazuha but it's notable.
As a Zy0x viewer, we enjoy when we listen to sea shanties often while we beg him to stop farming Vermillion every single stream right after we cream pound & genshindle. As someone who used Ganyu as main Dps till Ayaka and who currently uses Tighnari as a main DPS, he looks like a solid pull. I do have Yoimiya but an issue I always have with her id that her normal attacks dont always auto the right target
@@i.m.ir0nman No clue brother, but I have Ayaka, so my quota for Cryo DMG is maxed out, she's great, but I change Pyro DPS like it's going outta style. It's always between Hutao and Yoimiya, but Hutao is kind of a pain to play, and Yoimiya is a bit inconsistent.
It’s always nice to see Dehya being useful cause she’s cool. I dint think change shot characters are really “meta” anyways so as long as you’re using a team that feels good to you then it counts.

I kinda wish Lynette’s attack bonus passive worked inversely to how it does, as in the less different elements you have in your party the higher number it gives which would have given her way better synergy with lyney
I have never used Bennett but I’m now raising him due to just how good of a support he is for Lyney. It feels like he’s the perfect support for him, it’s crazy that Bennett was a day one character and now has perfect synergy with a Fontaine character.
Fontaine is the nation of HP control and Bennett is all about HP control + energy. Feels like he was made as a (for Fontaine) like Shinobu with her EM scaling for Sumeru

at first i was really not a fan of Lynney but using him in the trial hes actually pretty strong and pretty fun. also im a bit shocked Amos isnt higher i think that weapon is really falling behind sadly. i know its a standard weapon but its very niche even in its niche its not the best being beat out by the most universal bow being aqua.

Im really not gonna stress about farming up the new artifact ASAP for him, i just put my gilded dreams set that i used on my dendro travler on him and run a lyney/benny/dehya/nahida team. it works great
Eh, Gilded dreams kinda sucks. He's not a reaction carry, so the EM from GD and Nahida is kinda useless. But if you still do great even with a suboptimal team, thats a pretty good sign imo.
@@MrcreeperDXD777 I’ll definitely be getting the hunters set on him eventually, I was just saying that having a unused GD set with near perfect stats ready to go works pretty well in the mean time, the x3 attack boost from GD is easy to keep up thanks to Nahida, it’s nice to be able to spend my resin on leveling mats right now and not worry about artifacts.
I've wanted a CA bow character who's not Ganyu and a pyro dps. So I pulled him on the first day then tried to pull in the weapon banner which I rarely do (and have never won any weapon anyway), then got his signature weapon which is my first weapon win. It's like the stars telling me I have to main this magician. No offense to other pyro dps, tho cuz I barely use pyro in my team. Diluc is my only built pyro dps & not because I really wanted him.
I didn’t get to clip it because me and my friend were both too amazed and hyped but my Lyney was lvl 70 with all lvl 1 talents and with the right team rotation he hit 136k 😮 so safe to say I kinda whaled on him and went for constellations

I pulled his sig weapon by accident while pulling for sac sword for my xingqiu a few days ago. I finally caved in today and pulled him even though I was planning to get childe and am now here.
3:52 I don’t think there is anything to spoil in new Fontaine system, it’s just when you see blue sphere you hit with Lyney / Hydro traveler, when you see yellow sphere you hit with Lynette
literally love my lyney so much he quickly puts out so much dps and I'm not even using the best artifact build for him got him the skyward harp bow since it was my only 5 star bow & using a high crit rate/damage wanderer troupe for him pair him with my hu tao, xingqiu, and baizhu (who i only just got but loved for burgeon team immediately) and i'm blasting through abyss levels
Question, for the Amos Bow, do you think the travel time buff of the amos bow counts for the Pyrotechnic Strike? like the farthest the Hat is, the stronger the Pyrotechnic Strike gets? because in the Amos Bow description, it says it increases the damage every 0.1 sec the arrow is in flight, I just don't know if the Amos Bow considers the Pyrotechnic Strike as arrow, Amos Bow description always was a little bit misleading
Just to let you know, as an amos bow user on lyney and as someone who uses genshin optimizer, I can confirm that he will get the 40% dmg bonus for the pyrotechnic strike, sometimes it’s lower to only like 32% because the shot was only for like 0.4 seconds, but in general, the pyrotechnic strike does get buff and counted as charge atk based on the amos bow.
I hope this isnt confusing, basically, the short answer is yes, the pyrotechnic strike does get buff for like those 0.4 or 0.5 second, it will be equal to 32% or 40% respectively
Correct me if I’m wrong, based on what I test, the buff is sometimes 32% and not 40%is because the duration only start when the cat hat start firing off, so I can safely assume that if the enemy is a bit further away, then the pyrotechnic strike would get the full 0.5 seconds duration, but it’s such a small difference in damage so it’s not that big of a deal whether you gain 32% or 40% buff from that amos bow

@@traninhminh-eric9117 I still didn't get him, but I'll test once I get him, pretty sure it does get buffed, but it isnt so necessary to focus too much to play around Amos Bow passive, like make sure all hats that Lyney deploy are as far away as possible from the enemy so the pyrotechnic strike does as much damage as possible, Imo just play it normally
The best rotation for Liney is Q E 2 or 3C because despite the first rotation being weaker than others this rotation lets Liney get his skill and burst buffed by Kazuha, Bennett and/or other buffers. Their buffs don't last long enough to cover both charge attacks and Q+E damage, and Q+E damage is higher than 1-2 charge shots so it is better to give the buff to Q+E+1C than to 3C. Liney's stacks don't disappear when off-field, they last 30 sec, so this rotation does work, and it does more damage.
I feel like Lyney is held back by the lack of good pyro supports. What he really needs is a pyro shielder that doesn't depend on normal attacks. Also an anemo/pyro healer who can heal him without burst would be nice.
we technically have 3 pyro shielders (one is conditional) Thoma, Xinyan and Yanfei at c4. I imagine he will get better in Natlan unless we get more pyro supports after. However Xiangling and Bennett are so good, I feel like Hoyo will be too timid when making more off field pyro units. He is not really held back by lack of pyro supports he can use Xiangling and Bennett, the only thing holding him back would be if you use other characters who need those characters. As for shields, Zhongli with Archaic Petra instead of anemo with VV while not as good, is still a great option and viable.
@@Candytime9 The problem for me with using Xinyan and Yanfei is that their kits are partially built to be used as Main DPS, and the shield is just a side effect so they aren't strong enough. Or parts of their kit that could be used for support or off field DPS are wasted on main DPS capabilities on a Lyney team.
@@rirururu4697 Yanfei's shield is very strong if you just build her pure HP and ER plus she can use thrilling tales for additional buffs. I built Yanfei for sheild only, I didn't even level up her talents because they are unnecessary for her shielding. I have used her on Hutau and Yoimiya teams for a while now. Xinyan though has a crappy shield, I will agree with that.
@@Candytime9 True. But it just isn't the same as using an actual support who wouldn't only have a shield but possibly other passives and skills and bursts that can buff your team. I'm not saying Yanfei is a bad option ofc.
ive been waiting and saving for lyney for abt 3 years since the teyvat trailer came out, then i got burnt out at sumeru and missed his banner and fontaine in general 😭 when it’s his rerun im gonna be SO prepared
14:00 Note that for Lyney's weapon, you only get the movement speed for characters that are NOT pyro. Aka running him with Zhongli or Kazuha would give him 1 Stack of the movement speed buff, but a Bennett would give him an ATK% buff

Raiden had an anti-optimal Abyss during her premiere too. Raiden’s Q happens on the reverse cycle of everyone else. This is horrible during “high tide, low tide,” because that required everyone to be in sync.
I wanted Freminet but got Lyney instead. I had a saved up guarantee for more than a year, but I’m honestly not mad about losing in to Lyney. Yes he wasn’t planned for, but I’m very glad that I got him! He’s lvl 80 talents lvl 1 with no artifact set (only 18%atk) and his damage is INSANE!!
New artifact is pretty good only if you having hard time balancing crit/cdmg ratio so you can focus with crit dmg and exploit your artifacts effect. But damage wise, existing artifacts is better.
The most amazing thing about lyney is that he's one of the few only characters who can get genuine benefits from dehya. Dehya's elemental skill can allow your whole team to have resistance to interruption, which is something that you need if you wanna play lyney.
Genshin gives me HxH vibes for very specific skill set. If this is a tournament, the opponent must know the secret and weaknesses of his vision skill including the fact that the opponent should have pyro aura on them to enable his massive power increase.

Question, for the Amos Bow, do you think the travel time buff of the amos bow counts for the Pyrotechnic Strike? like the farthest the Hat is, the stronger the Pyrotechnic Strike gets? because in the Amos Bow description, it says it increases the damage every 0.1 sec the arrow is in flight, I just don't know if the Amos Bow considers the Pyrotechnic Strike as arrow, Amos Bow description always was a little bit misleading
Just to let you know, as an amos bow user on lyney and as someone who uses genshin optimizer, I can confirm that he will get the 40% dmg bonus for the pyrotechnic strike, sometimes it’s lower to only like 32% because the shot was only for like 0.4 seconds, but in general, the pyrotechnic strike does get buff and counted as charge atk based on the amos bow.
I hope this isnt confusing, basically, the short answer is yes, the pyrotechnic strike does get buff for like those 0.4 or 0.5 second, it will be equal to 32% or 40% respectively
Correct me if I’m wrong, based on what I test, the buff is sometimes 32% and not 40%is because the duration only start when the cat hat start firing off, so I can safely assume that if the enemy is a bit further away, then the pyrotechnic strike would get the full 0.5 seconds duration, but it’s such a small difference in damage so it’s not that big of a deal whether you gain 32% or 40% buff from that amos bow

@@traninhminh-eric9117 I still didn't get him, but I'll test once I get him, pretty sure it does get buffed, but it isnt so necessary to focus too much to play around Amos Bow passive, like make sure all hats that Lyney deploy are as far away as possible from the enemy so the pyrotechnic strike does as much damage as possible, Imo just play it normally

The best rotation for Liney is Q E 2 or 3C because despite the first rotation being weaker than others this rotation lets Liney get his skill and burst buffed by Kazuha, Bennett and/or other buffers. Their buffs don't last long enough to cover both charge attacks and Q+E damage, and Q+E damage is higher than 1-2 charge shots so it is better to give the buff to Q+E+1C than to 3C. Liney's stacks don't disappear when off-field, they last 30 sec, so this rotation does work, and it does more damage.
I feel like Lyney is held back by the lack of good pyro supports. What he really needs is a pyro shielder that doesn't depend on normal attacks. Also an anemo/pyro healer who can heal him without burst would be nice.
we technically have 3 pyro shielders (one is conditional) Thoma, Xinyan and Yanfei at c4. I imagine he will get better in Natlan unless we get more pyro supports after. However Xiangling and Bennett are so good, I feel like Hoyo will be too timid when making more off field pyro units. He is not really held back by lack of pyro supports he can use Xiangling and Bennett, the only thing holding him back would be if you use other characters who need those characters. As for shields, Zhongli with Archaic Petra instead of anemo with VV while not as good, is still a great option and viable.
@@Candytime9 The problem for me with using Xinyan and Yanfei is that their kits are partially built to be used as Main DPS, and the shield is just a side effect so they aren't strong enough. Or parts of their kit that could be used for support or off field DPS are wasted on main DPS capabilities on a Lyney team.
@@rirururu4697 Yanfei's shield is very strong if you just build her pure HP and ER plus she can use thrilling tales for additional buffs. I built Yanfei for sheild only, I didn't even level up her talents because they are unnecessary for her shielding. I have used her on Hutau and Yoimiya teams for a while now. Xinyan though has a crappy shield, I will agree with that.
@@Candytime9 True. But it just isn't the same as using an actual support who wouldn't only have a shield but possibly other passives and skills and bursts that can buff your team. I'm not saying Yanfei is a bad option ofc.

If you play Tighnari, Lyney is the same, but reverse the rotation.
Instead of skill ---> charged shot, charged shot ---> skill.
Lyney and xiangling team < Lyney and dehya team

14:00 Note that for Lyney's weapon, you only get the movement speed for characters that are NOT pyro. Aka running him with Zhongli or Kazuha would give him 1 Stack of the movement speed buff, but a Bennett would give him an ATK% buff

Raiden had an anti-optimal Abyss during her premiere too. Raiden’s Q happens on the reverse cycle of everyone else. This is horrible during “high tide, low tide,” because that required everyone to be in sync.
I'm glad I'm not a charged shot fan because Lyney looks so cool I would definitely pull for him if I liked that playstyle.
I wanted Freminet but got Lyney instead. I had a saved up guarantee for more than a year, but I’m honestly not mad about losing in to Lyney. Yes he wasn’t planned for, but I’m very glad that I got him! He’s lvl 80 talents lvl 1 with no artifact set (only 18%atk) and his damage is INSANE!!
New artifact is pretty good only if you having hard time balancing crit/cdmg ratio so you can focus with crit dmg and exploit your artifacts effect.
But damage wise, existing artifacts is better.
Lyney, Genshin's Harley
I don't like his playstyle at first but I like twinks so I learned to love him.
The most amazing thing about lyney is that he's one of the few only characters who can get genuine benefits from dehya. Dehya's elemental skill can allow your whole team to have resistance to interruption, which is something that you need if you wanna play lyney.
Genshin gives me HxH vibes for very specific skill set. If this is a tournament, the opponent must know the secret and weaknesses of his vision skill including the fact that the opponent should have pyro aura on them to enable his massive power increase.
this was super helpful! but i hope people know that even if you don’t have zhongli, playing lyney is still fun! i don’t have him and im quite skilful when it comes to dodging so its a piece of cake for me!❤❤

Physical lyney is great, his talent just need the enemies with pyro
So it also increases physical damage
Im gonna run him with 2 other pyro and Kuki,
Kuki for healing and the overload keeps enemies away from me
