    The things you were calling nodes are not the nodes. They are auxiliary buds. The node is the swollen part at the base of the petioles and leaves. When the internodes along the stem are cut the nodes begin producing a rooting hormone that signals the auxiliary buds to shoot out new growth. Also, the white rocks are not fertilizer. They are pieces of pearlite used to increase soil aeration.

    Hi, I have a question about photos plants. Is there a way to make or force the plant to split it's growing end in to two or more ends that grow ? Instead of growing just like a single continuous string of leaves?
    I'm asking this because I don't want to have to many roots in my aquariu. I just want one root system from where the plant can be bushed out by me.

    • @HaYNFishKeeper

    • @sylvesterskyes9558
      @sylvesterskyes9558 Před 2 lety +1

      @@HaYNFishKeeper Ah, I see. Supposedly how some some aquarium plants work is that when you trim the stem plants, it stimulates them to have new growth by releasing a hormone down the stem of the plant. I was wondering if I could superficially damage the photos plants near the nodes to trigger one such reactions.
      I guess I'll have to continue digging in the matter. 😅

One was cut out of water one under water. the one cut out of water did after a few days pull the color up the stem and color the carnation, but the one cut in water started over night to pull color up the stem.
      the one out of water cut was able to pull air in to slow the siphoning of the color in the water. So yes both ways work, but one way is the right way if you teach a lesson teach it the best way. Have a nice day. Charlie @@HaYNFishKeeper

    Pothos is not as toxic as some claim. Sure you do not want your vegetarian reptiles to eat it as it does bind with and block calcium absorption, but... I have pothos in my yard and my cat loves to eat it. The cat has been snaking on pothos for years with no ill effects.

      @@HaYNFishKeeper one of the funny things is in my office I had a 30 gallon Community tank with one pothos hanging out my tank maybe about 3 inches well when we haf this shutdown I couldn't go back to work to check on the fish.( I work at a waterpark so there was one person in the building that would feed the fish every day) . Well he would never put water in the fish tank so the tank wasn't getting any water changes or water added to the tank since March 15th and on June 26 when I went back to take the tank down to see if any of the fish were alive all the fish were alive the tank was missing 75% of water all the hang in the back filters were burnt out I had two of them in the tank. I had one air stone in there the pothos plant grow to 6ft long. Crazy so I decided to check my parameters the water was perfect and it had about 15 fish in there from Neon Tetra to black neon tetras one betta than actually died when I put them in my other tank.

    Ok, a few corrections, nodes not nobes, propAgate not propergate. And hydroponics is growing plants in a water base while adding nutrients whereas aquaponics is using a water base but gathering nutrients from fish waste. Therefore aquariums are aquaponics not hydroponics
