I agree completely. DC is not a rat hole..it has so much history and many museums. It is where our government is ran. It is where memorials are placed from history. How can anyone just think one past presidents opinion of DC is the sum of the city? P6 shares so much it is like being there. I don’t like the negative political talk from disgruntled MAGAS comments on this sight. It is depressing. The world has enough negativity and truly horrible disasters and evilness happening why take your own country and tear it down everything that is not inline with your political preference? What a shame to be that bitter and negative never seeing good in anything right in front of your eyes. I feel sorry for them. They are missing out on how fortunate we are to be living in the USA which is not perfect but it far better than many countries. I have a disability do not travel however my son and his family went for visit to DC and they loved it. Even when it was full of smoke from Canada. Lol.

That building is known as called the Eisenhower Executive Office Building. It was originally the State, War, and Navy Building and is in the French Second Empire style.

@@dif1212 The Vice President's ceremonial executive office is located there. They have another ceremonial office near the Senate that V.P. Pence was initially evacuated to on January 6, 2021. Their main office is in the West Wing.
From 1879 until 1921 the office was used by sixteen Secretaries of the Navy, and then from 1921 to 1947 General of the Armies Pershing had the office save for when Hoover was using it due to the West Wing fire. From 1960 all the Vice President's save Humphrey have had the office as well. Johnson being Johnson he didn't give it up as preferred using it to the Oval Office. In the 1980's the office switched to being ceremonial office.
All these places have quite the crazy history, and one can only imagine the stories they could tell if they talked.

The Eisenhower Executive Office Building it’s one of the prettiest buildings in Washington. I was lucky enough to tour it when I toured the White House basement which included the bowling alley that Nixon put in.

Presidents have been flying via helicopter to and from the White House since Eisenhower. Just because you didn't know that doesn't mean that there is some grand conspiracy going on.
President Biden lives at the White House, but he enjoys like most Presidents getting out of the fishbowl that it is. In his case he likes to go to either of his two homes in Delaware or to Camp David. His predecessor liked to take the 747 just to go golfing.

Just go to Montreal and Quebec City. You don't need a car, there's a good 3 hour train in between running from city center to city center. Both great foodie towns and safer. If you need your weed, you can buy it in the store legally. Best part is the USD is worth about 25% more. I don't like their politics there, but we're going on vacation. Went last year and we got a deal on SkyMiles for the equivalent of $182 pp from Orlando with bags. Using hotel points for the rooms. Loved it and going again. Better and cheaper than going to France with a similar vibe IMO.
