DONUT PUZZLE SOLUTION (in 3 seconds!)

This is the step by step guide to solving the hanayama donut puzzle.

The solution to the donut puzzle is fairly simple but quite fiddly. There's just one position you need to be in for all four parts to separate at once.
1. You need to get the rods connecting the white donut opposite each other
2. Then you need to line the white donut up where the separated part of the grey donut is
3. At this point the white donut should slide apart when the rods are at the top and at the bottom
4. Lift half of the grey donut so it separates from the opposite part
5. slide the white donut further apart until all four pieces are disconnected
Done!

You make it look so easy. I work in construction and because the skin on my fingers is rough and dry I find this puzzle to be very difficult to get ahold of. I was able to finally get it after dropping it for the 100th time. Thanks Ross.

got this 2 weeks ago--i find it very hard to get the silver parts in the right place to get them to start to separate--i am retired so my finger tips are too smooth and i find it hard to grip the rings--need to find a way to make fingers more adherent--great video--i finally got it apart several times--also i have arthritis pretty bad in both hands !!

Getting the silver pieces lined up correctly is definitely the hardest part. It's essentially a blind move so is tough to do. Nice work on getting it apart!

Most of the difficulty on this is the slipperiness. Used rubber gloves and it got easier lol.
