Hi Brittani! I stumbled onto your videos a couple of months ago and love them! By the way, I wanna let you know that. I am a female and I'm only saying that because for some reason because I use my initials in my username people tend to think I'm a male-- I just think it's so odd! By the way my first name is Tawana and I live in Wisconsin. Anyway, I wanted to share with you that I can relate to you autoimmune journey because I have lupus. I remember hearing you mention that they were concerned that's what you had before your sarcoidosis dx. I slightly not interested in because before I got my final lupus diagnosis they thought that I had sarcoid! I also want to share with you. That at one point and for probably close to a year, I was on 80 mgs of prednisone a day! I was pretty sick and my kidneys were being attacked And we're pretty damaged. So that was the reason for the need of th high dose. In addition to that, I was also on cellcept and methotrexate and these were all the same time! When I Started using cellcept, it was just starting to be used "off label". I'm quite a bit older than you, and that was around 2001. I've had quite the journey! I'd never mind prednisone. It was really so effective for me. That I did not have any side effects even from it-even at that high-dose! I have my own theory as to why that is, but we won't go into that. After about 5 or 6 years, I was weaned off of the prednisone altogether but I was still on the other drugs. A few years later whenever I would want to go back on prednisone because of feeling crappy, my doctors were really hesitant. But there is another drug that they like better that is as effective as prednisone but not as bad on your body. And it's called Kenalog. You may want to ask your doctor about that. I would get it in an injection and it would last for quite a while I don't know if it's available or orally or not, but it's just something to think about. I really liked it! About 4 months ago I started a new drug. They are weekly injections called Benlysta. It is actually the first drug that was been developed specifically for lupus because as you know, with your autoimmune disease, every drug that we take is borrowed from another disease, and a lot of cancer drugs are included in that. So far so good! I think I'm feeling better although I was told. I wouldn't feel any different for many months, like 9 to 12 months. But I think I'm feeling better and I think I'm tolerating it well. I have very few side effects. So I just want to share that with you Brittani and again let you know how much I really enjoy your videos. I look forward to them, you are fun to watch. Just keep on being you! I apologize for the length of this comment. But I just really wanted to share.
