- Marianne was new to camping when she joined the Butterfly Tribe for the Route 1 Road Trip of a lifetime. She knew she had to go on this trip so she used what she had to create a comfortable, inexpensive camper that has taken her thousands of miles on a memorable journey.

Please share with Marianne that the New Jersey park visit really affected me ALSO i was so moved and inspired. Being an Army brat I did get to see the 🗽 from New York harbor as the ship that was transporting me, my brothers and my mom to Germany in 1960. But I don't think you understand how special your country and its history ar that age. Again thanks for sharing so much with us.🥰

Another satisfied butterfly. Going to Iowa then on to Mt Rushmore but not camping just the traditional way of driving and staying in a hotel. But I did tease my husband and said it would be nice to camp in our SUV at Mt Rushmore. He shut me down lol. We are starying with family in Ia. So when we do our trip we won't live on the edge but will have a blast. I think it will be our new years trip.

Great tour of Marianne's SUV Jan! It was wonderful traveling with all of you on the southern portion of the Route 1 road trip! I put 8,252 miles on Bamm Bamm on my trip from Texas to Maine to Key West and back home! I have been home a week, and I am already planning my next trip!

One lady uses a refrigerator as a freezer to freeze flat freezer containers to put in an ice chest to keep her meat ,fruit and vegetables in.
That works too. It takes more electricity to run a freezer, though. 🙂

After hearing how much lady liberty had an impact on Marianne I have decided to stop taking the old girl for granted whenever I pass her by which is almost every day .
That's wonderful. So easy to take daily life for granted. 😊

Tons of great info! I would be concerned about someone approaching in the dark of night. Would it be practical to use a motion activated light- I’ve never seen that and wondering if that would work. Thank you - ❤ this site.
Thanks! Yes, lots of us use motion detection lights as mouse deterant. She only leaves the back open if she's in a state park with a group of women. When the car is locked, she's safer than in a house. You can't drive a house away! 😊

My first year of full-time travel, I had 2 little dogs in my minivan. I've done van tours of women in a Prius and a Toyota Corolla.
