This project was first announced in 2003 by Modi, it faced lot of criticism from congress and environmentalists at that time but Modi continued with his vision anyway, construction started in 2005 and finished in 2012, total length of the river front is 11.5 kms on both the sides.... this is just phase one of the project, construction of phase two is already started which will increase the length of the riverfront to 17 kms on both the sides...... building riverfront is not the only target of this project, a pre planned Central business district will get developed over next 15 years along the banks of this riverfront similar to London or Shanghai......It will also have padestrian over bridges, gardens, multistorey parking lots and sports facilities in future......what we are seeing is just the start of this project

The project of this riverfront was under my father, he brought the plan (project) from Delhi only officials of that time know it. He was collector at that time, miss those VIP lifestyle days😢😢 and now this project is complete(not totally but partially). Respect to my father 🙏🙏 he was such a good person, but no one at that time appreciated him, the literacy rate at that time was law and he was an advocate and judge(high court) before and after that an officer in corporation and then collector, his hard work paid off, i am feeling proud right now that such a beautiful project it is and a little bit of contribution from my father, i am feeling sad right now, missing him badly 🙏🙏
River front road is nice but the buildings are dirty ,pathetic. Not even painted and spoil the whole looks. When there is space above why the buildings are not 30-40 storied. Our country needs lot of space and it is being wasted. I hope some of the buildings are demolished and skyscrapers made in place.
Calm down, they will get demolished and will be replaced with skyscrapers within next 10 years or so, 4 high-rises are already under construction and 2 are already completed, and this is just a start, government has notified this entire area as CBD zone and private investors are trying to buy land from those ugly buildings' owners
They are live time indicators for traffic situation on riverfront road and parallel running ashram road so that you can choose road which has lesser traffic....and yes they look very beautiful especially at night
Roads and cleanliness is good but the buildings on the roadside are spoiling the view.. Those pathetic old buildings shall be demolished and rebuilt.. They are just spoiling the view
