The Tannhäuser Gate - Stellaris Lore

- This is what we know about the The Tannhäuser Gate and the Never Forget digsite in Stellaris the grand strategy game by Paradox Interactive.
The audio file is a clip from the movie Blade Runner; and indeed the reference of the gate and "never forget" digsite is a homeage to the actor Rutger Hauer who sadly passed away in 2019. It is his voice you hear delivering that famous line.

I've always wanted to activate it to find a T cluster or something
Not a T cluster, but like a T system
"I've seen things you people wouldn't belive...Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion, I watched C-Beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser gate, all those moments will be lost in time, like...tears in rain. Time to die."
“Your ride’s over mutie.
Time to die.”
"Science officer Deckard" was a nice touch.
When I first found the Tannhaüser Gate I really wanted it to be something more than an Easter egg. That said, I do like that there's so many references to sci-fi works in the game.
Agree, a doorway to another dimension would be cool!
@@TheRedKing Maybe a future update could link it to the Ultima Vigilis system with a mid-game event chain or something.
@@TheRedKingcould be tied into astral rift maybe in the new dlc?
Rest in Peace, Roy. Your tears shall never be lost.
I love the Bladerunner reference.
As always this a a brilliant video by one of my favourite creators, when i first found the gate i spent a good 10 minutes googling it and tring to figure out what it did and was super disappointed when i couldn't find anything but the buff from the archeology site is still nice
Glad you enjoyed it
Yea it’s just a reference to the final speech in blade runner
man that brought back memorys i havent watched the original bladerunner in over a decade!
Great. Now I've got to watch blade runner. I had plans tonight. Thanks a lot.
Appears your plans improved! 😇
great video as always, I wish they added some flavour text for the UNE or the COM about a "pre-hyperdrive tech colonization effort"
That would be cool!
Could you do a story similar to the xt 489 but as a rouge servitor or assimilater i genuinely loved that one
The borg?

@@Anom_Anom Rouge assimilator would be the borg.
@@tails0420ify oh
@@tails0420ify I was thinking in Stellaris tho but ok
Truly magnificent job.
The gate looks like a jumpgate from the X series games only not quiet complete.
well the gate way remintes me of the Gate ways in the X-series games, it looks like the ones in X4 or X3 made by the sohnen.
it could be a coincidence or a reference
Be careful it looks like an Ori Supergate.
It does a bit! Perhaps a little small...
Awesome work sir, anothet great video i really enjoyed the blade runner refrences!
Glad you liked i, always lovely to hear from you :)
@TheRedKing I really enjoy the stories you create from stellaris. I hope I notice the next time you do a community writing thing, I'd like to try my hand at telling an interesting story for you to read. You have a great channel, I love stellaris, and I always think of it as being as much about stories as ck3 is wven though it often turns into more of a numbers game. Sometimes, I purposefully play non-mets or even just outright weird empires to see what stories come out of it. Thanks so much for all you do. The stories have been and continue to be amazing and excellent mind candy 😀
Ooh, the Bladerunner quote. Clever!
"Life is fleeting, all of this will end...". Me in the bathroom at 2am
very nice
The hive requests gate not be opened
How much of a technological marvel and impressive capability frontier feat would the Domain from Halo be to the Stellaris verse even for Ancient Cache of Technologies and Gigastructural Engineering technology tiers?
I have no idea i'm afraid!
I'm a bit rusty on Haloverse lore, but the 'Domain' is an immaterial reserve of knowledge contain by some sort of esoteric repository that can be accessed (and access other beings) from anywhere in the galaxy. Frankly any sort of Precursor technology is up there with the 40kverse's Old Ones technology in the 'probably higher than Gigastructural Engineering/Ancient cache of technology' tiers.
@@internetzenmaster8952
The Neural physics and the Halo equivalent of soul manipulation of their own verse's version of souls is a interesting subject which the high amount of power it has within it's parameters seems extremely potent when utilized to it's fullest potential and scary effectiveness since the Flood have access to all these abilities and can use it to practically do anything with little restraining them. There are some theories like "The Primordials Horrific Secret - lore and theory" by Installation00 where it can be speculated to have horrific implications and large scale.
It's likely in some ways it's better and able to surpass that of the Old Ones and Necrons from 40k at it's at most highest level.
I would have thought Gigastructural Engineering and Ancient Cache of Technologies would have had to something to be par with such especially the Qaesar weaponry and Tier 10 Omega stage stuff since those are the most powerful tiers seen.
def something the fallen empires don't use because their empires are too small.
so probs a megastructure along the lines of the even horizon one.
@@isuckatusernames4297
What do you mean by this analogy? I would have expected something far bigger then merely just that kind of describe projection. The Domain is hyper advance and huge in scale.
When i found this i always wondered if it could be activated and is so, could it be replicated for a cheaper but slower form of a gateway
Blade Runner ❤
Ah yes, more Red King to give to the DM to give to his players who thinks he's original
Until I drop my sources at the end of the campaign
Happy DnDing
Thank you! We're on the verge of a major arc so wish me and my players good luck because... I have to write a lot
hello, I love how you are able to get High Quality renders of Stellaris's art whether from events or traditions etc. how do you get them? I try to convert the DDS files from the Steam folder but it comes out with a very low quality
Gotta upscale them
@@TheRedKing how do you do that?

I seen this in stargate thats a super gate
It does look a bit similar!

CTR (click-through-rate) is just over 10%, best i've had in a while! For reference the Brain Slug one was around 5/6% on day 1, even after i'd changed it.
