  • This is a video on visiting Quintana Roo, which is the Mexico state located on the Yucatan Peninsula and is probably best known for the sandy beaches of Cancun, or the Mayan ruins of Tulum.
    I'd like to thank www.allianztra... for sponsoring this video.

    I love the way you pronounce these places names lol, i grew up in quintana roo, but the locals there pronounce the names of the places unrecognizably different. 😂

    Will never forget the few times I've explored the ruins in tulum. First time I went there you were allowed to climb to the top of the main temple. And explor was pretty neat going through the underwater cavern River systems

    second part of the name of that state is pronounced more or less like "Row" or "Roe", for us English speakers its understandable we want to say it Like "Rue" because of how we treat the double "O" in English, but the Mexicans definitely don't say it that way.

    It is a bad idea to plan a trip to the states of Yucatan or Quintana Roo. Expect to be harassed by immigration and given less days than you plan to stay there (Reddit has tons of forums with people complaining about this). All of the attractions are related to the beach (they are really expensive too), which gets boring after awhile. It is better to visit the coast of Jalisco and Sinaloa. The beaches are just as nice, the states are managed by liberal governments, and everything is cheap (Taxis, Restaurants, and Hotels).

      You know Sinaloa has a bad reputation with drug cartels right? It was the first thing that came up when I searched Sinaloa.

      They had a bizarre phenomenon take place last year that caused an incredible amount of seaweed to wash ashore. Many of the resorts had to rake the beaches, which created huge mounds of the seaweed. If they were unable to remove right away, it would begin to smell. Don't let that stop you from going, It was a rare occurrence from my understanding. Otherwise it is a beautiful place to visit.

      @@RoadTripTravel According to our beach bar buddies - sargassum has been around for a few years. Spending monies & time trying to remove it. We had staff on beach everyday clearing up the sargassum. It did smell awful. Most tourists at hotel stayed by pool. If you were adventurous and stayed on beach - quieter - but smellier.

    • @T289c
      @T289c Před 2 lety

      It wasn’t a bizarre occurrence, the seaweed , sargasso, covers that coast from June- September every year. Not pronounced Roo…. It’s RO

    The first thing you need to do is to learn how to pronounce the name of the place you are reviewing. It is pronounced 'Ro' not 'Roo' as in Kangaroo........Then you have the balls to upload this?...If you spend any time here you would know that...
