1:37 Mikey's comment: "You know, my Mom used to say something that made me feel better. She said "The third wheel is what makes it a tricycle.'" Best Line Ever!!!! LOL
He's so much fun.
NALF is fast becoming Germany's leading expert on Butter Brezels.
Correction: leading, self-proclaimed expert.
@@mojojim6458 i claim him so so he is
„Becoming“?…
Expert? 😀
yeah .. the Butter Pro..
So my Grandfather Heinz Poike and my mother Heike Poike came from Germany and it was always my plan to go visit Germany one time in my life and see where my roots came from. Studied German in high school and have more to learn but my grandfather passed away from a sudden stroke and my mother was killed by a gunman in her home so I have no idea if I will ever make it but at least I am experiencing the country through you and your videos and I am truly grateful for your videos because of this. Danke schön!
Walking up a steep path:
Mikey = dead
Laura = fresh as the morning sun
Walking across the shaky bridge:
for Nick it was the most horrific moment of his life;
for Laura it was Sunday
😂
Amazing mountainproof girl.
@@susannabonke8552 - mountainproof and Nalfproof. 😀
This area is so beautiful! Mike is a great third wheel.
The lately adopted child.
Nick, your stories, your editing, your style are all wonderful! It is always such a pleasure to watch your videos.
Thank you so much for such a nice comment!
@@NALFVLOGS I don't know what it takes to grow a CZcams channel but you should have many more subscribers. Your content is very high quality. You clearly put a lot of thought, effort and time into every video.
Your videos are the only videos on which I press the like button right in the beginning without having really watched them. You haven‘t managed to disappoint me, yet. 😊
Nick, you did great making it half way across the bridge! I hate heights as well. I would have never stepped foot on it. I know to send Michael walking sticks .:-) You two might need walkie-talkies next time. Great drone footage.
I would have never gone within 500 feet (or 500 meters even) of that bridge.
@@mojojim6458 😂 Männer 😂
The worst part is that you can see through the frickin' walkway. Horror!
WIE BIDDE?
I wonder what the safety factor is on that bridge? Do they load test it periodically? I might walk across that bridge jn Germany. But the same bridge in China? No way!
Living half an hour by car to the Alps I´m hiking quite frequently. Never gets boring. I first used the sticks to support my knees at lengthy walking down the mountains (bad experience). But once you are used to them they don´t annoy anymore, they become useful at slippery paths. For me, Berchtesgaden is the more beautiful Alpine region. There are good websites to find the best tour...from a relaxed half-hour tour to multi-day tours with overnight stays in mountain huts. Don't underestimate the risk and the weather! Great content, btw.
Pretty much my thought at those shots about Germans and the walking sticks. Up the mountain isn't the problem. The way down is when your knees start reminding you of every second helping and every slice of cake you had in the last twenty years.
Perhaps the Unicorns should consider to hire Laura as fitness coach.
11:21 what a great picture: Laura and Nalf are enjoying a pretzel and the probably gorgeous view and than there's Mikey with his phone and a gatorade bottle.
Awesome video, really happy for you that you had such a nice time there!
You won't catch Mikey eating one of those butter pretzels.
@@mojojim6458 He is not germanized enough yet. Give him a few years.
@@christophk.7585 Mike is not the nice guy Nalf is.
Exactly my thought! *laugh* But probably just a snap shot. Funny though.
This bridge is terrifying! I'm really impressed that you walked over it at all so no need to feel ashamed.
I have to tell, that I really enjoy your videos. Keep it up!
I grew up in Füssen, nice to see my hometown again in your Video. It's a nice place to live.
I do not understand how you don’t have 500k or a million subscribers.
Really enjoyed this episode such beautiful landscapes, great shots and editing, well done! 🤩 Laura does seem very brave 😂
Crazy times now. An american guy show me how beautiful my country is . Thanks Nick
same
2nd half of the video....not your country. that's Austria
What a great video of a beautiful part of Germany! I particularly liked the scary pedestrian bridge and the castle ruins, the "German Machu Picchu" 🙂
Beautiful mountains, beautiful scenery, beautiful castles and beautiful people! NALF has passed down third wheel status to MALF.
Thumbs up on all counts.
Really want to go to Bavaria and have some pretzels now.
Haven’t been home in almost 3 years.
I am glad you like this little Spot in the world. This is near where I live. Excellent drone footage!
This video is amazing, so nice to watch!
Enjoying your videos very much, it is very interesting to see your experiences as Americans here in Germany. I really love your content and video making, even as a German I can see new beautiful sites of my country ☀️
I echo this. Great content, I really enjoy. Dankeschön 🙃
maybe because it wasn't your country....2nd half of the video is actually austria
What a wonderful video, Nalf, you made my day! It made me forget about all the horrible things we can't avoid seeing. And finally you have to acknowledge that Bavarian Butterbrezels are better than those in BaWü! And it is so funny to see how Laura gets you climbing up the mountains and walk on wobbly scary bridges. I fully understand that you went back because I have the same problem and in my opinion human beings are created to walk on solid ground. Walking sticks may seem bizarre to you but they are good for us elderly people to do a kind of workout because when you do Nordic Walking you activate not only your legs but also arms and shoulders. Mikey is really the cherry on the cake, when he got "lost" you reacted like a dad would do. Please, please more of such videos!
Absolutely love your videos.
This video was fun to watch and went by so fast 😳😄
Mikey is such a good addition to your videos!
I Love your Videos they remind me of how nice Germany really can be after living here all my life
Really loved your music choices in this video.
This bridge reminds me of the mandrills scene in Jumanji - The Next Level! The scary part is that you can look through the bridge when looking down. Great drone shots!
Wonderful video!!! I have been to that area, beautiful. Its to bad you couldn't use the bridge by the Neuschwanstein castle, it is a great view.
Hey man. I’ve just discovered your videos. I’m really enjoying your content. I’ve missed traveling so much the past couple of years. Also wanted to say thanks for introducing me to Dermot Kennedy. Amazing stuff. Thanks for your positive presence. The world needs more people like you. Take care, Ross
Thanks a lot, Ross
Just started watching a few weeks ago as an American living in Frankfurt, it's nice to know others encounter the same struggles!
Very nice video, maybe consider visiting the Breitach Klamm near Oberstdorf when it is open again, it is a really stunning experience from my memories.
„the german version of Machu Picchu” is actually the austrian version of Manchu Picchu! 😉
Cool Trip. Really liked your video!
Nick, you were brave. I am scared of heights also. I couldn't do that. Brave man.
Und ich mach als erstes immer das ganze Salz weg. 🥨 🤣
@L W Schmeckt aber soooo gut, wie alle "verbotenen" Dinge!
You saw some great places in the area! Credit to your guide! Also walking up to the Highline is a must. That shorty cable car is for old people who should still be able to enjoy the experience. And you're not the first person I've seen... holding respect for that bridge.
two weeks ago i have been in your hood. clackamas oregon fo work. very nice there. spring just started. one day i had time to drive towards mt.hood. liked it a lot!
The castle was awesome. I have been inside. It is amazing
That was fun...thanks for taking us with
VMarkt-Brezeln are my favs! Even when they are gone a bit stale bc they are already a bit older in the afternoon, they are easily freshened up by putting them on the toaster and warm them up.
Very nice Nick and you even brought little bro! 😂🤣😂
Used to laugh about walking sticks. I was young and dumb. Then I hiked up to the Zugspitze for 12 hours. And hiked from Oberstdorf Germany to Meran Italy over the alps for 6 days. I wouldn't have knees right now without sticks. Especially for (surprisingly) hiking DOWN. It's a must have tool.
Absolutely lost it when you walked up the hill backwards after laughing at the walking sticks LMAO Its even worse when walking downhill
8:48 there is the reason why we use walking sticks in the Alps😉
Always pleasant music.
I love ur videos, thanks
This is the ruins of Ehrenberg Castle. In Austria 🤭
I would recommend the mountaincart track at Spitzingsee, it’s quite an experience…. And don’t miss the Kaiserschmarren at the Milchhäusel…
How can one set of parents produce the most incredible set of 5 Gorgeous sons and 1 gorgeous girl? All 5 brothers could appear on the cover of Mens Health Magazine and that issue would sell out and become a collectors item!! All 5 boys have incredible physiques and beyond goodlooking!!!
Really enjoy your videos! Germany is beautiful!
As always great and entertaining content!
Just wondering, was that a (dont film me right now) „babe“ at 2:26 ? 😁
Keep going man, I love your channel!
Actually, the bridge and this particular Burg Ehrenburg are in Austria, just outside Reutte in Tirol.
The views there are so beautiful!
I love this Outro so much.
great drone footage (y)
You know, openly selling parts of Austria to Germany may have consequences next time you have to play the Raiders or Vikings ... each heavy hit and block will be added with a wispered, "It's Austrian not Germany!"
He's planning ahead for when he reaches 100 K subscribers and reworks the boundaries of Europe.
Das hab ich mir auch gedacht
I would love to have Mikey's version of the theme tune as a ringtone on my phone.
seriously.. I luve you guys
Bad enough to go somewhere with your girl friend and little brother tags along. Then you lose him. What am I gonna tell mom?
Mikey, your outro interpretation is hilarious 😂
Mike is such a comic XD. Love it.
We normally rip the legs of the brezel before we eat it and when we are finished we put a chunk of butter on them. You get the crunch with butter as a nice finishing. But this would not be possible with the bavarian brezel you had in the video. Have fun and a good day
Hat nicht jeder sein eigenes Ritual wie er seine Brezn ist?
Some minor note: The Suspension Bridge is not located in the German Alps but this is close to Reutte in Austria and called "Highline 179", connecting the castle ruin Ehrenberg with the remains of Fort Claudia.
That's a beautiful area.
I tried to walk across the Golden Gate Bridge years ago. Couldn't make it more than a few steps. The swaying and movement under my feet paralyzed me. You did good making it as far as you did.
Wer shall overcome.
Huh guess I was lucky walking it back then, didnt feel any swaying at all and it was a windy day in Sausalito
Very enjoyable❣️
Good vibes.
Wenn man seit einigen Monaten nur eine Stunde Fahrt von eurem Ausflugsziel entfernt wohnt, aber noch nie da war.. Muss ich dringend nachholen.
You guys are so brave! Nothing could possibly make me step on that bridge, absolutely nothing!
Agreed.
It took me five tries to actually cross that bridge. But only once. After that I chose the long way down the mountains from the other side. My hands instantly start sweating whenever I see that place. Terrifying for sure!
The footage at 6:57 is so frightening. I would have turned back as well tbh 😂😂
Besides the german version of Machu Picchu is located in Austria.
Austria is Bavaria - Bavaria is Tirol
@@tummlo1 Bayern wäre gern Tirol 😀
5:05 Highline179 is not the longest pedestrian bridge in the world. The 516 Arouca Bridge in Portugal is over 100m longer.
516m vs 408m. The Titan RT Bridge in the Harz Mountains is also longer with 483m.
Due to the pandemic, the Schwäbisch Haller Dreikönigslauf will take place this time on 29 May. That would be a great challenge for your little brother and you! 10 kilometres through Schwäbisch Hall. You could make a great video and maybe beat your brother in the run? Or will he win? ;-)
It would be great if you ran with us! Normally the run is in winter when you are in the USA.
Too bad you didn't get to see the kings bedroom. His writing throne/desk is awesome, made of carved wood. Back in the 80s they wouldn't let us take pictures.
Next time you go back home you should, if you haven’t already, visit the Capsilano bridge in Vancouver BC
"This is like the german version of Machu Picchu"
Should someone tell Nick that they had crossed over to Austria? ;)
Sigh. I should have known.
Resistance is futile, you‘ve been Anschlussed ;-)
@@HingerlAlois 😅
Austria, Germany same thing
@@linajurgensen4698 LOL
7:50 I can absolutely understand you! Nothing in the world would bring me on this bridge, because I am absolutely afraid of heights!
this bridge is my nemesis... i will never cross it, no matter what
loved the outro ;-)
You should try an Obazdabrezn while in Bavaria, they're the best thing ever!
You will absolutely love the Titan RT in Harz. 458 meter span located right next to the Rappbodetalsperre.
I know how you feel about the Butterbrezn. I'm caught up in a never-ending contest of Zimtschnecken (cinnamon buns). However, I do love a good Butterbrezn too 🥨😋 and I would say it does not necessarily depend on the region (Swabia, Bavaria or else) that makes one better than another. There are just so many different ways of making it. I bet every artisan baker has their own recipe and chains such as the Brothaus serve an average taste anyway. I love their rye bread btw.
From Scotland with love 🙂, don't mind seeing more drone footage of the Highlands accommodated in the Swabian vlogs 👍.
I would love to see Nick try the trail and cables to the top of Half Dome in Yosemite National Park.😱
Angel's Landing would be a good first experience.
The wonderful road and trip Tour..i like shopping driving car on the way beautiful views and landscape at the fields i am your fan 🎉👍!!
Ah yes, German Wanderlust, here we go again. ♥
Nice video... I only missed the ascension to the "Tegelberg" ;-)
what about the crunchy arms/legs, which makes a Swabian butterbrezel so special? Bavarian style makes no difference between crunchy legs and the buttery thicker but softer part. If you choose the Bavarian style, you can put butter on Laugenweckle which ist then pretty much the same.
i was in neuschwanstein twice but hte second time but the way we got up was wild xD and there are real hiking paths but that is something different
So You you paid for two tickets, but used only half of the bridge?! You have to work on your efficiency!
cool bridge
been to Machu Pichu..... its more climbing!
Besides my fiancee, Nick found the cutest German girl on earth. Due to Mikey's very great sense of humor it won't be long and the Alferi family lost his second son to an other German beauty .... Go for it Mikey - we have plenty left.... 😂
👏😂👏
Seems like Nick and Lauren are to Mikey what Cody and Speedy were to Nick
My thought exactly.😆
But it seems Nick is clever enough to remember that he can get rid of him sooner by introducing him to the area where he him self got found by a lovely flower. 😏
Making a fourwheeler out of that tricicle could be the beginning of a great gocart tour 😁
My first thought: "Bavarians can't walk without their walking sticks... US-Americans circumvent that problem by not walking at all!" smart 😉 (I say mockingly from my home office job having walked a max. of maybe 1000 m today 🙄)
y'all are so cute together!
Guys, please don't say you drove home without Laura 😮
Walking sticks: They were used in the Alps already before "Nordic Walking" was trending. By that time they used their skiing sticks. In the alps it can be helpful in glitchy places - which you see now and then here and there - mud, snow, ice... then it is good to have "4 legs"
I guess you could say the Schloss was geschlossen xD
