Kellan the kid is a very strong commander form the outlaws of Thunder junction commander set that can generate unstoppable value and quickly overwhelm our opponents!

This is great! I couldn't decide if I wanted to do adventures, foretell, suspend, and on and on.
Alaundo is rough one to run because if you exile something big with him and then he gets removed it's gone forever because those cards don't remove their own time counters like suspend cards do
I hadn't thought of using ciphers with Kellan! Might have to try and put some in my list.
I wasn't aware of how cipher interacted here but I may visit that as additional value to my build! I did this commander as a storm build with Mind's Desire paying off.
Another thing to consider for your build is Precognition field, which is like the reality Chip but it only casts instants and sorceries.
I'm going to have an "old man yelling at clouds" moment. Whenever someone says they're playing a "value" commander, what I hear is: "Catch up on your emails and housework, my turn is gonna take a while." Prosper decks soured me on the whole value thing. If I wanted to binge season 3 of The Boyz while they take their turn, I would've stayed home. It's why I avoid decks that rely on my opponent's deck. More work that I want to deal with when I'm trying to relax.
I love this commander! I have had the best luck with Plot & Adventure cards. Interesting point about the cipher, but I think it would just make Kellan an even bigger target.
I think yeah, it is very hard to. Find balance with this deck. I took a more adventure heavy creature deck. With wincons like mind dilation, hulk breaker, behemont, Akroma's will and True Conviction to end the game after having some creatures. Never thought of a sorcery and instant approach. Im going to try it and see

I also built an adventure heavy approach, only played two games but found it lacking in interaction. I want to integrate some more of stealing opponents cards
@@johnbobbryan well, there is a artifact vehicle that steals from opponents and Daxtos as well. What i do is that most of my adventure spells are interaction. Counter or removal. So i can get a big creature into the the exile to cheap hulk breaker or mind dilation in and just counter a big problem. All lots of protection
This commander was also difficult for me to build, I decided to go more of a landfall route

I pulled Kellan at a prerelease and I have LOVED playing him except I can never keep enough cards in my hand to make him valuable enough. I can build a board but kind of durtle a bit. I think making it more creature based is important, almost a Kinnan type.

Tsk tsk tsk. Another Kellan the Kid deck missing one of the best Kellan cards. Kellan is a Faerie Rogue meaning you can cast Knowledge Exploitation on curve to cast the most powerful spells from an opponents deck and drop your beefiest permanent into play. Not bad for 4 mana

6:10 I'm afraid you can't cast Gaea's Will for free off of Alaundo the Seer's activated ability. It reads: "Draw a card, then exile a card from your hand and put a number of time counters on it equal to its mana value. It gains “When the last time counter is removed from this card, if it’s exiled, you may cast it without paying its mana cost". Since Gaea's Will is mana value 0 it won't get any time counter to be removed and therefore it will become stuck in the exile zone.
Read Alaundo again.
@GerBessa Alaundo's ability allows you to cast the card "when the last time counter is removed." Gaea's Will has no mana cost, gets no time counters, and can therefore not be cast with Alaundo's ability.
However, if it is suspended by it's own ability, Alaundo can "speed up" the effect.
I use those powerful cheat spells as well as all the good landfall creatures

430$ is considered budget for a commander deck? Have several friends trying to get me into playing mtg, specifically commander, and if a budget deck that's half a grand is considered budget, I'm gonna have to pass lol.
