As someone who has been a minimalist for 10 years now, read countless articles and books on the topic, these are some of the same and best tips I could give! Great job, Carly!
Although I have always preferred neat, clean spaces, it wasn't until Covid struck has I really got serious about making my home about ME. I donated and repurposed some furniture that no longer fit who I am today. That allowed me to purchase a couple of pieces that I really love and that fit my small space better. I donated clothing that either no longer fit my body or lifestyle. I spend a lot of time at home and, while my space isn't a showplace, I am so happy with it. I love your video because it gives me inspiration to continue to make decisions that make me happy.
This decluttering inspo is great! After almost 2 years I’m getting started on decluttering 2 huge bins of office clothes. I feel bad bc I spent a lot of money on them, but it’s taking up too much space now. Thank you for this! xx
I am all about the decluttering, and thanks for the reminder Carly! There is a building in my area that feeds the homeless; walking down there with a bag of seasonally appropriate clothes every couple of months makes it so much easier. I also sell on Poshmark, which helps my budget. I have a home based business and it requires equipment and supplies - so keeping everything else to just 'needs' helps keep space for my equipment (the important things at this point in my life). I also have a 'one in one out' rule to keep myself in check. Easier to clean, easier to stick to a budget. Your home is beautiful Carly.
First time seeing a video on your channel. I love to organize my home and houses owned by family and friends. I like what you said about items deserve to have a space in your home. So true!
If I haven’t thought about it or used it in almost a year I’m not gonna miss it!! It’s helped me get rid of SO MUCH!! And it decreases my buying as well
Love how you get to the point, but show what you’re doing all at the same time. Also, total side note: I think I’ve bought out all of those dang Target bins that you recommended! They’re SO GOOD
My mom sister and I live in the same home together and we moved from a house that we have lived in for year's after my dad passed away three years ago we held on to a lot of his stuff but when we moved we all knew we had to just get rid of not only his stuff but other stuff that we just don't need so we got so help and some extra-large garbage bags and just started tossing good thing the new area doesn't have a limit on the garbage bags that can go out on a Sunday. Our basement is looking better every day.
One thing I do is refuse to go to bed in a messy space. Every night I put away items I took out or used before bed, and throw out or put in a donate bin things I took out and left out because I no longer what them. Helps me wake up in a clean space which sets me up for abetter day, and keeps the decluttering process constant and simple.
Love all your videos but I’ve found the past few videos the audio has changed and sounds very tin can like? Just wondering if you got a new camera because it sounds low.
I’m not a minimalist. I like things. But I do declutter my closet all the time. I try hard to keep it clean and organized. But it doesn’t stay that way. While it is a walk in, it’s just a long row. I want to get some kind of closet system. But I know my husband, he’s going to say there’s nothing wrong with it. And if I would happen to buy one, it could sit a long time before I could get him to do it. I used to do it all myself. But I’m tired of doing things. So I would probably just wait for him. Or I may try to talk him into it before I buy it. That might work better.
My husband and I have started our journey to minimalism. I am wanting to know how to deal with any of family's negative towards our new lifestyle? Has anyone have had to deal with it.
Do you have any tips for decluttering or keeping your space clean? Leave them below so viewers can see your advice too!
Becoming a minimalist was one of the best things I’ve ever done!

That is so great that you can donate your clothes to people who are in need! The one in and out rule is so helpful. Thanks for sharing!
