I always found it amusing that while the monsters are scary, none of them are inheritly evil except for boogie which is why he was banished
If I recall correctly, he is not from Halloween town originally. That would explain part of why he has a different set of priorities.

Also I just found out her hand is shaking and she closes her eyes before picking the flower because she’s so scared that it might not be true only to have Jack tell her that he loves her back.❤️🖤
gotta love the Jack returns song, no one cared they failed or the damages , they only cared about Jack in that moment. Everyone, from the kids to the grown ups, loves their pumpkin king.

It was really sweet how they weren’t bitter over their failed attempt at Christmas and were so overjoyed when they saw Jack was back. They were more excited to see Jack was okay and back home their beloved home of Halloween Town.

It made me think that the reason why he kept Sally inside the house was because he was just lonely and wanted a companion whether it be a daughter or a wife

There's this really cool bit of musical symbolism at the very end that I just love: the score and, as a result, the movie itself end on a reprise of the melody from "What's This?" but it ends on a diminished chord instead of a suspended one. Not only that, but it's also a Picardy third, so it starts in a minor key, but ends in a major one.
It's a literal and figurative resolution: Jack is feeling the same joy he felt when he first saw Christmastown, but rather than feel it for something new and alien that he unhealthily obsesses over and even tries to possess, he feels it in the love he has for his friend, something he already had and which he can share with them. The musical resolution that ends the movie is him getting some very positive closure.
It's the musical way of saying "...and they all lived happily ever after." A perfect fairytale ending.

It was sweet how the citizens of Halloween town weren’t in despair over their “failure” of doing Christmas and were so happy Jack was back. They were all so sad when they saw Jack get shot down and then became overwhelmed with joy when the mayor brought Jack back to their beloved town.
I always love how Jack is the one to approach Sally on the hill ❤🖤

Claymation was such an amazing art form. I mean it takes so much detail, time and effort. But look at the masterpiece that came out of it. Nightmare Before Christmas is still as beloved today as it was when it was released.

@@neonstarfish8391 If you listen to the finale on the soundtrack album, you can very clearly hear that it's Catherine O'Hara singing. In the version heard in the movie, it's a different vocal track and I don't think it's Catherine O'Hara. The movie's vocals sound more like a professional singer. Probably just to make the final moments of song as perfect as they could.

1:34 I read a really good fanfic once where the name of Dr. Finklestein's new wife literally is Jewel. I thought it was a cute touch. She was very kind in the story and acted a bit like a mother to Sally. Sadly, this was years ago and I cannot remember the name.
I also read an interesting but kind of sad theory on tv tropes that pondered about the spooky toys the citizens made for the children, how they might have thought they were just playing a game with their new owners and weren't really going to hurt the children.
Another detail I love is when the little brother and sister find the toy duck and scary teddy, they love them at first, the sister snuggles Scary Teddy to her chest. I wonder how many other children reacted like that and played with their spooky new toys at first.
