Safety Third is a weekly show hosted by William Osman, NileRed, The Backyard Scientist, Allen Pan, and a couple other CZcams "Scientists". Sometimes we have guests, sometimes it's just us, but always: safety is our number three priority.
Connor: "Isekai are just an incel's fantasy"
Garnt: is a married man
Also garnt: is the protagonist of this world means he's isekaied here
Since he's married to a more degenerate person than anyone on this earth, I agree
@@Anshuhd does that mean this isn't the real world?
@@shun-li8204 this is just a simulation and we are all npcs oh my
@@shun-li8204 reality is often disappointing
I'm certain a million people will end up letting Nigel know, but Wired put up a Justin Roiland interview today, and Justin is wearing a Nile Red t-shirt. Just thought that was cool.
It could have been like saying "someone" call 911! And no one does because they assume someone else did.
He replied to the comment from youtube that said cool shirt.
@@jeepspeedracer bystander effect
someone needs to reach out for Nigel to get him on the next season
Vanity Fair?
It's funny that the TT Bois spend more time talking Anime in other people's podcasts than on Trash Taste.
Ikr? Quite disconcerting Ngl kekw
i was thinking the same exact thing, and it always proceeds after they insist they don't really talk about/watch anime lol
It’s because they got away from Joey and can speak about anime again.
it's because they have to accommodate for Connor, the most non weeb member of TT.
Hence, why he can't explain the reason for long titles but Joey has already done this during his collab with Pewdiepie.
It's simply because, there's too many LNs in the market, it's too slow to expect people to read the premise on the back of the LN and just much quicker to try to entice people just from the title. And fans will come up with a appropriate shorter title later, like "Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken" into just "TenSura"
@@Kaimax61 at least connor still watches anime. Joey on the other hand rarely does so nowadays and they'd probably be better off talking about specific titles on their own streams instead. They're still entertaining regardless what they talk about anyway
First Garnt on the OfflineTV podcast, after that Connor on The Yard and now Connor again on the Garbage Flavor?? This is some podcast multiverse right there. Love this!
Connor was also on The Yard Podcast too.

I bet the email's are full.
21:15 "It's a movie, and then you occasionally press buttons"
Metal Gear Rising, a game with maybe 3 hours of cutscenes including in-gameplay conversations, took 51 minutes of pure gameplay to finish the game in a SPEEDRUN
"He just wants to make movies but maybe dont want to deal with physical acting"
Most Metal Gear games were motion captured with real actors INCLUDING MGR
-This slander post is brought to you by the Cutscene Enjoyer Gang
It’s funny bc he blames it all on Kojima, when he specifically didn’t direct or write the game lmao. He made his internal devs postpone it for a couple years then gave it to Platinum. Kojima’s company just published the final game, and obvs had input on the MGS lore and whatnot.
@@Virginiafox21 pretty sure it's one of those "gotta have specific elements but aside that go nuts" kind of deal
@@Virginiafox21 If I remember correctly it was an employee who worked under him who organized writing the game but yeah, initially the game was supposed to be in a really important part of the timeline and Kojima was more involved and decided that the internal devs really weren't up for it and so Platinum got it and the writer he sent suggested lets just do it post MGS4 which means there's a lot less complicated stuff to deal with story wise.
Also, it's hilarious since Kojima has said he wants to make movies and has thought about it for years, but I think he's said that the restrictions that games have makes it a bit easier for him than making movies since he doesn't know what kind of movie he would like to make since he loves so many types of movies.
Thank you!!! I'm also very tired of the trash talk on Death Stranding, especially from Connor who hasn't played it. It's a really good game...
Connor is just a natural in any podcast, this episode was just so dang fluid!
On the topic of dubs vs subs,
24:15 Do you think they realize that they're talking to an english voice actor?
@@kylecheng3710 well they definitely figure it out later lmao
Yeah he fit really well. They've been hanging out IRL for a bit so that probably contributed to their rapport
Same with Garnt on offlinetv
@@helton3425 That episode was fantastic!
Never in a million years did I think I’d see Cdawg and NileRed in the same room doing a podcast...
I didn't even know NileRed had a podcast!

guys, me from the future, nigel is on trash tastes in a recent episode.
They did another one now
Fucking love Nigel and Connor both talking about skipping cutscenes and Connor is just like “man you’re fucking the same as me-“
You guys keep getting super interesting people onto your show each week. Some weeks are “don’t touch the high powered device or you will die” others weeks are “anime semen”. Keep it up.
19:36 Connor: "I really enjoyed the genocide part"
What an out of context line.
Just British things.
@@ElRulis09 ah... Yes... It's breakfast.
And they still got the monetization
NileRed and Connor in a video is a crossover I never expected. I've followed both of their content for a long time and it's so surreal to see them in the same room lol
Same lol, I thought there was zero crossover between the two and never even considered it, didn't even know NileRed had a podcast LOL

For light novels, yes. Super long descriptive titles are so people can know exactly what the book is about without having to pick it up. Its another attempt to get people interested
It's personally been really really fun just chasing after these series.
I don't read light novels but I am a fan of reading manga, so it is surprising that a lot of them do have manga adaptations for them.
They can get repetitive, yes, but I think there's just something charming about these authors just trying different ways to make their story stand out from the rest.
I never really understood that. Like, for other novels there is this thing called the BACKSIDE of the cover, where you have an entire page worth of premise to explain what exactly this book is about. Why don't LNs have that?
@@TheExecutorr its a Light Novel WEBSITE
There is no backpage and the point is to summarize the story in a way that intrigues people enough to read the light novel by the title alone due to the large amount of aspiring writers to compete with
@@TheExecutorr the level of competition on the shelf is just that much i guess.
@@inoob26 ah, I completely forgot about online publishing, good point.
Was legitimately not expecting to see Connor on here, but somehow it's exactly the crossover I needed.
when i heard on a stream a few weeks ago that he was getting helped by William, I joked with a friend "omg, what if they do a collab" and the shock when this vid came up on my feed >>
Like wtf?! The science and anime worlds are colliding??? I never would've thought I'd see these youtubers from fairly separate fields collaborating. Tbf, I guess they all fall under the umbrella of "nerd." Also been pleasantly surprised to see collabs with I Did a Thing. Some of my favourite Aussie comedy channels also did some collabs this month.
@@vrinkee It's less that they're all nerds, and more that they're all individual content creators that got together and started a podcast.
@@WanderTheNomad That's true as well. I guess I'm more pointing out how they both relate to me in a way, before the podcasts.
Strange at first but I can see it bc Connor went Uni for engineering
did the fact connor has an engineering degree never come up? lol

Dude I was literally just watching a trash taste video right before this perfect timing 😆
This is a crossover that I didn't really expect, as these are my two favorite podcasts, but it's so cool to see how the trash taste crew is branching out in the US
Allen really needs to read Worm. It's a superhero serial with incredibly creative powers that solves the "underdog is too powerful" problem with increasing serial escalation.
Was looking for this comment - yes!
ooooooo yes. Worm is such a good story that he would definitely love.
I'd rather just read cultivation novels. Too OP? Suddenly multiple universes with infinitely more powerful villains. It's just brutal/adult DBZ
Dude I almost spat out my water seeing nile red next to connor. There have been many surprising crossovers lately but this one takes the cake
There is nothing more infuriating than watching someone skip the game telling them exactly what to do, then getting super confused and angry saying ”what the fuck do I do???”
NileRed, one of your short recently sent my family into a panic because you mentioned radioactive watches and when I showed it to my mom she freaked out because sitting in the corner of our living room was my great grandfather's old pocket watch. Short story is that we think its not a radioactive one
If it is radioactive, then the glass is probably blocking most if not all the radioactive paint. So, you probably don't have to worry unless you break it.
The ultimate cross over the anime podcast that doesnt talk about anime and the engineering pod cast that doesnt talk about science and engineering
The 2 podcasts I subscribe to together, this is absolutely incredible.
Kojima can't make movies because movies are limited heavily in time. Each game would be like 15 movies
I got an ad on this video. It was for online therapy. Which is sorely needed after listening to the podcast for an hour.
I randomly came across 'Magnetic Rose' from the Memories series a couple of weeks ago. Absolutely a hidden classic.
Ghost stories is the best dub of any anime
Memories is FREAKING AMAZING. Brb rewatching.
I like how every collab podcasts expects the trash taste guest to be an expert in anime lol
The best Trash Taste host on Safety Third, huge pog
I hope you guys never stop having fun with this and always upload cuz I love these they're so entertaining
YAY!!!🎉 I love all the regular uploads now. What a great way to start the weekend. Thank you Will!☺️🙏
A big thing of why I started to like anime (slowly getting into it) is that since it’s all animated the “special effects” are always on par with the regular effects so it can get a lot weirder but still make sense/look like it’s done well. So if doctor who wants to crash a helicopter into a giant squid it’s going to look like shit, if an anime does it it’ll probably be the same quality of the rest of the animation.
Kojima just wants to make a minimally interactive movie.
Listening to these guys talk about voice overs really put it in my head how difficult it is as a VA to interpret lines if good direction isn’t given. I made an Anime in Minutes style video on my channel recently and I was interested just how differently the VA’s interpreted the lines I gave them when I thought it was just obvious in my head. It really taught me that writing a script and then having people perform it is really two very different things. Voice Acting is an impressive skill that I think most people over look.
@ 11:00 When i was still in highschool, roughly 10 years ago now (god i feel old), i actually saw that DVD in a DVD bin and absolutely loved it. So there's probably DVDs still out there. Apparently you can watch it for free on Tubi.
Safety Third is now part of the Trash Taste multiverse!
Nile red explaining that it is like doing toddler explanations, clear and comprehensible in the moment no expectation for long term memory retention.
This is a really comfy episode. Everyone seems to be on a similar vibe.
“The key is completely forgettable content” I burst out laughing. But hey it made sense in the moment!
10:33 this is on a compilation DVD called Memories. I have the DVD and its awesome. Definitely worth picking up a DVD copy.
Oop he found it lol.
If only this was a livestream, right?
Nice, I never imagine that this collaboration even possible 🤯
Damn, I would've listened to this podcast for another whole hour
Now this is a Collab I didn't see coming.
man I wish this was like 2 hours long, I feel like they could go on so much more tangents
one minute watch, i wonder if connor will unleash his engineer side through out the podcast..
dang never expect this collabs..
Dude this episode has made my day and I never say that about anything. Alan Pan is fucking hilarious.
Didn't expect to see Connor on with the boys. Keep up the great content!
i feel like nile red hasnt watched a single anime in his life and is wondering wtf is happening xD
The fact that they are on the same American trash taste set, makes this 100% better. I'm so glad that the guys got Connor on safety 3rd
I have been watching all of you guys for years, I love all of yall and your content, seen every video, never stop the podcast, and if you ever do a live show in dfw metroplex I'll be there
they talked more about anime here than in Trash Taste podcast !!! love this crossover
Haha I love the mentioning of Nadia and Memories (also Memories recently got licensed by Discotek and it's streaming on Retrocrush).
I was having a bad day, but this vid got my mood up :)
BROOO THIS CROSSOVER NIGEL AND CONNOR WTFFFF I LOVE THISS
So I did not see an add. But Will's comment "if any one sees an add please comment" was iconic. I love this post fame William Osman, I feel like he was finally defeated and now knows that he is free.
Safety Taste is my new favorite podcast
Trash Third
You can definitely get fish jerky if you live on the west coast, it's usually made by local seafood diners that have a small shop attached. I don't know if this style of business has a specific name but you can find them up and down the coastline, barring that then the next best option is just any smaller grocer that sources fish locally will also usually have a variety of seafood quick bites ranging from salmon candy to Poke bowls.
Or just make your own, it isn't very hard.
It's not only about the visual style of anime but also the kinds of stories.
The stories often are more out there and creative. Anime doesn't take itself too serious but there are rly interesting concepts. Like Dr stone for example.
If you know a Western cartoon like that
11:00 Will is talking about "Memories"
I have a Blu-ray of it and it looks fantastic.
It's technically an Australian blu-ray I believe but there's no lock.
Oh, he uhh found the name like a minute later.
I scrolled down here looking for the info before he figured it out, so thanks anyway!
The Japanese DVD actually have English subtitles. But it's region locked to zone2 so it only works on japanese and European DVD players.
Seeing Nile Red and Connor in the same room is wild to me
You guys should come do a podcast on my farm in Oklahoma, if we’re lucky a tornado will come through on camera😂
Damn, never heard of safety third before but only knew of trash taste and Nile. Fun crossover!
I love this podcast. I can listen to every episode 10 times easy. so great.
omg!!! yay to the algorithm for sending me here was not aware safety third linked up with trash taste while they were in la!
This is like a weird crossover episode...my two worlds are colliding!!
Exactly my feeling! Never would have expected this, but seems like there's been plenty of amazing collabs this summer in particular. Guess everyone's going all out after covid.
This is the best collab possible!
Someone probably has pointed this out by now but the 3 short stories anime they were talking about is called Memories. It was made by the same guy who did Akira
I don't know if this is with all laptops, but my laptop has a DVD player and I was able to watch my good omens DVD that was region locked because it's a BBC show. I haven't tried Japanese DVDs so maybe it just plays American and Britan regions.
Did my man just diss Heroes of the Storm... all respect lost man
omg these guys are on fire!!! the internet is coming full circle
memories is actually showing in cinema in hk right now, im really tempted to go watch it now
I NEVER KNEW NIGEL RAN ON THE TREADMILL dude i would kill to see that
wooh new episode!!! a great birthday gift!
I would love to compare notes with Allen about Anime Reactor. I did press with Anime Punch there for the last couple of years it existed and wonder if he had similar experiences.
What a crossover, never expected that
This podcast has inspired me to actually commit to making some of the videos I have ideas for, so thanks for that.
I usually never comment since it feels futile, but there's a chance you might actually see this, which is important to me since I guess I wouldn't have written this otherwise .-.
This is the best episode yet and Mr Red get on that casting
the crossover I never knew I needed
WTF IS THIS CROSSOVER THAT I DIDN'T KNOW I WANTED...I mean NEEDED
Holy shit guys, somehow you got all the people with the worst tastes in media in one room, congratulations!
Aachi & Ssipak is a good "messed up" anime
It has it all, government overlords, poop tracking butthole identification rings, gangs fighting over automatically despatched drug popsicles, romance, bromance and most of all, massive guns that are bigger than the people holding them with unlimited ammo.
Watching this feels like i traveled to an alternate reality
Journey through Fairyland 1985?, really pretty animation set to classical music. basic storyline but somehow entrancing. rented it alongside "nightmare before christmas" all the time as a kid.
I did not expect this but i’m excited lol
This is the longest Connors talked about anime in a minute
Is Nigel going to the gym? He's pumped up
He's preparing to fight Mark rober
Nigel being unaware of undertale is hilarious
Wow Alan grew up in Gurnee?! Heh nice to see some N. Illinois repping lol; even though I'd rather be anywhere else.
Connor on the thumbnail is giving me the "Hello, Zuko here!" vibes
they have great chemistry
I just got an ad at the end of the video!
For a local paintbar
Separating different plastics would be good, it's a bit of logistics involved though. Here I sort cardboard, corrugated cardboard, metal, colored glass, clear glass, compostable, plastics, newspapers and the ideally combustable rest - burnt for district heating. (besides batteries and such).
Memories is so good. I was lucky enough to find a brand new DVD copy with the original storyboard booklet. Didn't watch it for the longest time then i did and took better care of it XD.
My favorite part of hunter x hunter is when gon uses a rotary phone by pressing the numbers and it magically works
Well. There are novelty rotary phone reproductions with buttons? Idk why I'm trying to justify this.
10:45 Its called "Memories" if anyone was looking for it, genuinely a decent watch.
Had commercials, one for Planned Parenthood, one for the whatnot app
Funny to hear someone mention Heroes of the Storm. It's the only moba I've actually had/have fun with. Too bad it's officially in maintenance mode now.
Ooh. The anthology that William mentioned is on tubi for free right now. Memories~
