  • In this video, we are going to download and install OpenVAS, a vulnerability scanner on Kali Linux Machine.
    sudo apt install openvas
    sudo gvm-setup
    sudo gvm-start
In case of an error message, please run the command
Sometime, the network firewall won't allow you to connect with gvm-feed, I used my mobile data to solve that issue.
    sudo openvas-feed-update
    OR
    sudo gvm-feed-update
    sudo gvm-check-setup
    #OpenVAS
    #GreenboneVulnerabilityManagement

There can be many reasons but I think you should update and upgrade the system.
Update the feed using sudo openvas-feed-update
Check your system to verify if nmap is installed on it

Hi, the vedio have nice explanation on tool. I found openvas is cross-platfrom but I can see most of the vedios are on kali or Ubuntu Linux and didn't find any vedio on installation of openvas on Debian or redhat Linux.. Apart that I can't able to find any software file to download openvas scanner directly. Greenbone official site documentation do has some installation steps using docker but no suitable run commands available on it... Is it possible to integrate openvas with Jenkins? If yes, please try to make vedio on Automating openvas scan using Jenkins [now on Debian or CentOS environments]

openvas is project of the openvas scanner and for many years the Greenbone company are known as openvas, but now to increase the visibility of the company, they started to change the names of the packages, reason why before we used "apt install openvas" and now we must use "apt install gvm" what will do the same process of the installation.
