ஈரோடு மாவட்டம் பெருந்துறையை சுற்றி 20-25 திருமண மண்டபங்கள் உள்ளன. அதில் ஒன்றில் கூட அருந்ததியர் சாதியினர்களுக்கு திருமணத்திற்கு கொடுப்பதில்லை. காரணம் கேட்டால், "நீங்கள் கீழ் ஜாதி" என்று சொல்கிறார்கள்.
ஜாதிகள் இப்போது எல்லாம் இல்லை யாரும் பார்ப்பது இல்லை என்று சொல்பவர்களா நீங்கள்.. நேரில் வந்தால் நிரூபிக்கப்படும்..

The problem with Reservation is that only the rich among OBC , SC and ST will get the advantage and will keep on using it for generations . Real poor OBC , SC and ST won't be able to avail the subsidy of Reservation .

Man, You are doing a great job. I feel like I found a channel that completely reflect my thoughts. On this reservation topic, I would like to add few points, all your examples are tied to only education & seats. According to me reservation is about distributing the power, ensure that it does not gets occupied only one community. I am not sure how many of us here aware about that we have even reservation in panjayat election. Every 5 year term it will get changed, for example, if a panjayat board has more people represented from scheduled caste, one term only candidates from scheduled caste can participate, in the next term it will be switched to general category where anyone can contest. It gives me goosebumps every time I think about how the entire reservation system has changed our lives. I am so happy about it.
About reservation for upper caste, in an argument I always get this question, if a SC guy who has became an IAS leveraging his reservations, should his children also gets to leverage the reservation ? They think its unfair. My point is that, its not about rich or poor, its to distribute the power/ to eradicate community based discriminations. Another analogy, lets assume we give reservation (that 33%) to women in all category. Now lets say after some 50 years, some random men says that, "hey It seems all women got what they want, why don't you reserve some 5% from that 33% for men" It does not make sense at all right, because that is for women empowerment ? That is exactly how it sounds when we say we need to reserve some for upper caste.
Reservation was never meant to eradicate poverty, please ask your govt to give you some easy loans in that case.

It depends on the attitude of the majority because they have been historically denied justice on basis of caste only so the representation will be given on caste only. Consider this if economic criteria comes into play then it is very much easy to dilute this system. Also u could do whatever u want economically to uplift people (waive loans, increase employment rate, give freebies etc) u could do whatever u want to economically uplift people . No one opposes that. But this representation comes under social justice .
