So if I put the speaker in my foyer, some buttons would be thirty feet away, will this work? I ordered the speak up buttons and they work great but we don't usually stay in the area where I want most of the buttons to be located, so I'm considering getting the connect buttons and adding them.

I believe the distance of the base to the buttons would be absolutely fine but the sound being that far away might be confusing for your learner.
The connect base is a lot louder though so you might be able to put it maybe in a central location. It also texts your phone when they press so even if you didn’t hear it, you would still be able to see what they said. That speaker is loud enough where it would draw attention and you might not hear exactly what they said if you’re too far away but you would know they were talking so you would know to go look at your phone 🤗

Hi. I bought a Fluent Pet set of buttons second hand. No base like u have shown and no instructions. What can i do to reset or use buttons. Does it need to be used with Wifi?

You have to have the base to make the connect buttons work. You can use code PHARABY to save 12% & you can Get it here: bit.ly/3SML2z9
You need WiFi to set up but it works on Bluetooth to have the buttons make the sound. & you need WiFi for updates too.

Would you say the pet fluent connect or speak up button has better sound quality? Very helpful video btw!

Connect is slightly better because you record it on your phone. I’m impressed with the speak up quality though and they are lower price point if you’re on a budget.

How long do the batteries last in the connect buttons?
Also can more than one connect speaker be connected incase you want it in a different room?floor. also can more than one cellphone be used for the "text" from the buttons?

    • @JenFarrer
      @JenFarrer  Před rokem +5

They batteries are supposed to last at least one year but they’re working to make it last even longer.
Only one base can be connected to each button, you could have her move the base to kind of being more of a neutral location so it could be heard in more than one area.
And because connect send you messages on your phone, even if you couldn’t hear it you would still see the text pop up.
I think you can add more than 1 user but I’m not sure if you have to select who’s getting the text or if it just comes to everyone. I I just asked the Fluent Pet team and I’ll reply to this as soon as they let me know.

Can you program these to send the audio to your own Bluetooth wireless speaker? I will often be in the kitchen away from the buttons carrying out tasks. It would be nice to have a Bluetooth speaker in the kitchen so I can hear the buttons being pressed while I'm (for example) washing dishes or cleaning the kitchen.

@hugoh.9694 as far as I understand, the only speaker they work with is the fluent pet base that it come with but that base speaker is pretty loud and you could kind of put it in the middle of your main areas that you’re in if that makes sense, it doesn’t have to be connected to the buttons physically, they connect to it via Bluetooth.

Is there a set that you recommend for beginners? Also does the dog need to be trained from a puppy? Or can it be an oler dog?

Any age can learn. I feel like older animals have a little bit of an advantage because they’ve been hearing us talk for so long. But young animals are very interested in learning so any age can do it.
I have a lot of resources (including buttons) to help people teach their animals to communicate like this on my website JenFarrer.com
& on my community tab here on CZcams (I’m not sure if links are clickable in the comments here anymore 🙈 but everything is clickable on my CZcams page)
This is my step by step button teaching book That I wrote after helping people teach their pets to communicate with buttons over the last few years: fableinc.etsy.com/listing/1555454266
      These are the buttons: Fluent.pet?aff=115
