It's that time of year again - CHRISTMAS AT THE CHATEAU has begun! Happy Advent!
Here is the twentieth video in our daily Advent Calendar series. Each day will bring a different surprise - but you can expect a mixture of exuberant decorations, seasonal florals, delicious food, gift ideas, musical treats and even a little Christmas carpentry...

They are available at €5 per image, or €10 for five colours.
I had hoped to have the papers printed in order to sell them ready-made, but with all of the Covid postal delays that's proved impossible. I had mine printed by Zazzle, and scaled the pattern up online so that I have both regular and large scale versions here for Christmas. You're all welcome to do the same in order to have large rolls made, or to simply print them on your home printers for very small parcels! But please only use them for private (not commercial) use.

Philip has a heart of gold, Stephanie’s right or left hand. He is always there to help, even spending the night in a cold car. That to me says a lot about a person. You are awesome! Merry Christmas to you all!!

The stick with the gold characters from the calligraphy set is an ink stone. You put a tiny bit of water in the flat pan and rub the stone in it to create ink. The red ink in the ceramic/porcelain dish is for the stamp.

You can tell the true measure of a person when things aren’t going well. Stephanie: spends night in the emergency room with an infection, home to the Chateau where the boiler is down, goes downstairs to fix the boiler, goes back upstairs to make all the stockings for her friends. Philip: spends the night in the cold car outside the hospital, stops by for groceries on the way home, helps Stephanie with the stockings and videoing. You are both beyond amazing😄 Praying for Stephanie to feel better soon and Cat to get home safely🙏

Hi Stephanie! Your Father’s artwork is so amazing and to turn it into wrapping paper and tissue is brilliant. Have you ever considered selling them? I really think they would sell. They are unique and beautiful and I’m kind of a present snob. I am always looking for unique, pretty papers and ribbons to make gifts extra special! Also, I know your Dad’s art is special to you, but have you ever thought of selling prints of his work? I just think people would enjoy your Dad’s artwork. Those papers are so stunning it was pure genius of you to think to print them into wrapping papers. I’m sorry I’m rambling on. Hope you all have a Merry Christmas! Tell Phillip my husband and I also love woodland animals and animals in general. Our dog is a Australian Shepherd and loves to try and herd animals. It doesn’t matter what kind. Oh Stephanie! Poor Philip, he has my sympathy. I had a similar situation with my mother in the middle of the night just over a week ago. Not fun. Glad you are doing well. He certainly is a hero. Needs plenty of hot toddies and pictures of squirrels!

Wonderful - I wish I was there! Stephanie - please get well soon. I cannot stress enough how important it is to take probiotics when taking antibiotics and eat lots of yougurt. Sending love.
Do you know what the schedule should be? I've heard that you take the probiotics two hours away from the Antibiotics. OR that you start taking the probiotics when you've completely finished the round of antibiotics. It's maddening all this varied advice and who is the expert to follow?

I wonder if Stephanie, because her Mother wasn't a fan of Christmas at all and Steph was sent to Grandma's or a friends, has somehow valued this time of year to her hearts content now and celebrates with all her Lalander loved ones...? I’ve wanted to let you know that I was taught by a wise elderly friend that in nature and in people as a general rule, daughters take the traits of their fathers and sons the traits of their mothers.
I feel quite sure in personality you are very much like your father, so in one more way you always have him with you. No doubt he was very proud of his girl and would be so happy seeing you shine your light all over the world.

You are not alone Stephanie, same thing happened to me on the same day. Maybe worse. Hemmorhagic cystitis for God's sake and no hospital to go to. All hospitals here are full of covid patients and we are instructed to not go and risk getting infected unless we are dying or in need of emergency surgery. Had to walk half an hour to go to a doctor, get an antibiotics prescription, walk another half hour to an on duty pharmacy, then walk another 30 mins home. Sigh! Both of us will be all right, so let's be thankful for that.
