  • In this video we teach you how to tie a loop knot for lures. Loop knots help lures move with more action than the standard connection and are an important way to boost your catch rate.
    In this video we trach you the easiest and best loop knot - the Non-Slip Loop Knot or Improved Loop Knot.
    Loop knots are also great for fly fishing. This knot is also called the Kreh Loop after legendary fly fisherman Lefty Kreh.
    Check this easy instructional video and pretty soon you'll be tying this note with ease.

    NOT being one to fish, this is an exceptional representation of how to make a loop to retrieve articles from obscure locations vs a fishing loop!

    This is my go-to line. I use 15 lb. Test and night fish a lot and when you pair this line with a blacklight, you have no problem seeing your line.

    Actually, your way the tag comes out the side. After you make your 3 wraps you should go back through the loop in the same direction that it went through the first time, then tighten up and your tag end will be pointing down toward the hook and will be streamlined and virtually weedless. For a video on this, go to SaltStrong.

      After the twists, the tag end should go back through the overhand in the OPPOSITE direction that it originally came through.

    • @warriorxtman2
      @warriorxtman2 Před rokem

      Tag end should go thru the loop from top to bottom. You did it backwards.

  • @jeffcurran4111
    @jeffcurran4111 Před 2 lety +3

    If you want a true 10 second knot look up a cannoe knot. No overhand knot. You thread line down tword the point make loop in line then while holding first loop make second loop put through first then tag through second loop pull tight but not really tight pull tag until loop is size you want then pull standing line tight. It sounds hard but if you get it few times it can be tied very fast and super strong

      We call that one the canoe man loop, it is a strong knot for mono and deserves more attention.

    • @bobbeckstead8340

      @@upyoursassmonkey It's a weaker knot - by about 10% - than the standard loop knot.

    Tie a rapala knot. Stick tag back through upper loop, pull down. Or make an overhead, then tie ini ahead of it. This knot is a clinch knot.on an.overhand and will pull through on braid with heavy pressure.

    Your TAG END will catch and drag weeds😮

  • @fastpch1
    @fastpch1 Před 3 měsíci

    You did it wrong Bc your Tag end is leaning up instead of DOWN ! When you retrieve the line it will catch Seaweed & Debri ! Sorry the tag Should Finish facing down toward the Hook or Lure .

  • @pacman4568
    @pacman4568 Před 2 lety +3

    This knot is reliant on just one connection to the tag end. If the tag end slides out, the knot comes undone. Looks like a weak to me.

    Overhand

  • @Kayak99
    @Kayak99 Před 9 měsíci

    No No No, after wrapping, you put the line back in wrong. You put it back in the overhand loop heading back towards the lure. That way when you clip the line you don't catch weeds etc.

  • @stillwater62
    @stillwater62 Před 10 měsíci +2

    You were supposed to go back through the overhand loop the same way you went in. and that way the tag end would be pointing straight back at the hook, or lure and would not catch weeds etc. You have the tag end sticking out at a 90-degree angle and will catch on everything. Just saying.

  • @hazelilene6043
    @hazelilene6043 Před 2 lety +2

    I respectfully disagree with that being the best loop knot... there is a far easier faster cleaner stronger loop knot.. everything you did was OK except instead of making wraps (which make the knot bigger ) just make a second half hitch once you go thru the first one and start pulling the tag end and the second half hitch automatically starts moving over the bottom half hitch ease it down to the size loop you want and pull tight .. practice this knot and it will become your favorite.. it's been mine for over 40 years... Good Day To Ya Mate...

    This knot has been badly (wrongly !) explained, badly filmed and wrong choice of material. Kot shoud always end up with the tag facing towards hook. So many things wrong infact that you should take it down.
