They are sending out the first batches for people who bought it in the kickstarter campaign (I received it last Friday). This will be a first impression video and I'll analyze it when I've spent more time with it to see how it performs. For now I like it overall but not too much on the Android side (due to performance). I want to make a bunch of videos testing different aspects of this tablet
@@LinuxDroidMaster Nice. I was super hyped about this when it was first announced. Fyde OS is also really good, when it works, on older PCs and Windows tablets (such as the Surface Go). I wish they would make a custom version for older MacBooks as well.
@@LazyPCRehab I saw the tablet and I was quite hyped too (and bought it hahaha). I'm really surprised with the Linux capabilities it has and need to test Android more in depth to see the good and the bad things. Btw if you want me to try something on it you can ask hahaha
@@user-superdave I'm not sure if they have a cash on delivery method of payment. You could check the page to book it which it is now available or ask them directly in Telegram or Discord. They answer fast
So, i was thinking "Very cool". Then i realize, this is exactly what Google ChromeOS has. From the Linux Subsystem to the Play Store and an updated Android. So, what is the benefit? Not having to log in to your Google account if you do not want to?
Yes FydeOS is mostly the same as Chrome OS (not Chrome OS Flex) but they do some modifications, for example they are testing in the open source version of FydeOS (OpenFyde) a LLM model that can run locally. Apart from that one of the most interesting things with this tablet is the possibility to install other operating systems like Debian or Arch, it is like having a raspberry pi in a tablet
You can have fydeos on arm devices while google... limits you to chromebooks and gives u an Flex OS that doesnt has Google Play. So thats FydeOS advantage so far.
@@diezgp Not exactly a subscription. Some models have no subscription and mostly its a fee to allow upgrading. Its still free on openfyde and the 'subscription' is yearly and cheap no need to be scared.
You can install different operating systems in the tablet (Debian, Arch, Android AOSP, FydeOS, etc) so you can use it like a laptop, an Android tablet, a mix or whatever you want
🎉 Look forward to seeing the unboxing 🎉
Thanks!
Great Video !! 🎉🎉🎉
Thanks a lot! :)
This thing has been on preorder for almost 2 years, by the time it actually releases (if it does) it will need a refresh.
